    Removing head bolt

I'm changing the Headgasket on a h23 right now and I can't get the head bolt off. Anyone have a tip or two to help me out? I'm using the 14mm socket, and extended the racket 10" longer so I can get more power with more leveage. But I still can't lossen the 1st head-bolt. How much power do you need to used? Should I give it all I got?

Great achievements result from great effort

I used about a 4 foot breaker bar. They'll make a hell of a pop when you break 'em loose.

use a shorter extension if you have one so you lose less torque through the extension flexing, and use a 1/2" drive 14mm. give it all you got, if thats what it requires...

i use a deep socket 14mm 1/2 inch drive on an 18 inch breaker bar, adn add 2 feet of pipe if i still need more. do not use an impact gun ever on those bolts.

          Day 4
Bought a breaker bar and a deep socket. Got #1-7 bolts loosen but striping on bolt #8. Went out to get some JB-weld it and will continue the battle tommrow.

make sure youre using a 6 point socket, not a 12 point.
