You could try to overexpose the image with infrared light. It wouldn't be visible to the naked eye. Maybe install them in a license plate frame. I don't know how effective it would be, though.

We're in the studio, stay tuned.----------(click)-------->

      A roll stop isn't a stop lol

I always complete stop, if I'm not going to stop I'm not going to roll, I will just flat out ignore the sign (like the stop signs in my neighborhood)

The school district I actually grew up in is the only district in the US to have these kind of cameras

They are mounted half way down the left side of a school bus to catch people not stopping for school buses

It's the only kind of camera I can 100% agree with.

I remember as a kid we would watch people run our bus, it caught on so much that there would be a cop waiting at that specific bus stop each day for those guys who wanted to run it lol. The fine if pulled over by a cop is $500, I don't know what the fine from the camera is.m

Wow... yeah, I'd totally be behind school bus cameras. Way more than these stupid stoplight cameras.
I clearly remember my old bus driver yelling at people as they whizzed past, long after she had put the red lights on!

          I know, I know ....
But I remember the night, and I was in a hurry. I usually always stop. It just sucked

My friend got snagged for a roll-stop at 4:30am. Not a single person around.

I feel it's ridiculous that the city can charge people whatever they want, whenever they want, for any reason...

Agreed. Like in my situation... it would cost me as much, if not more, to fight the tickets in the areas that I get them.
Of the 4 tickets I've gotten, only one was truly legit. The other 3, if seen by a cop instead of a camera, would likely have gone without notice. Or if a cop had noticed and pulled me over, he may have let me go with a warning after I explained.
You can't explain to a camera. A camera can't see that your view was obstructed, or that your choice to go through the intersection in bad weather was the safer option. Cops can reason. Cameras cannot.
"innocent until proven guilty" does not apply with cameras.

Some of my friends have that done. It's an option, I suppose.

Difficult to do here, though... not without drawing attention:

it's the rear plate that they get.

Hmm, how to get pass the rear plate?

Deeve, do the cameras near you use flashes? if so, you can use this:
                        http://petapixel.com/2012/10/16/noph...ement-cameras/

it basically works like my slave flashes that I use when my radio triggers stop working during a photoshoot-it sets off a bright strobe of light whenever it sees another flash of light. this would massively overexpose the image around your license plate, making it a big white blob all over the image.

-I just read further, and that license plate frame is still in the development stages, and will likely go for over $350 when it comes out. in the meantime, you can use this:
                        http://www.ebay.com/itm/Morris-Mini-...item3f246c4a87

waterproof it then stick it near your license plate and it should work like a charm. you could even DIY it and hardwire it in

edit: this has me thinking now, you could integrate the flash into your taillights, so you don't have a big, nasty, obvious housing stuck to the back of your car. in the fit you might even be able to mount it in the rear window, but idk how far away from the plate it would work.

As far as the truck obscuring the red light, that means you were following too close.

That's how the law is written, and a cop would have ticketed you anyway.

The snow and other time, were probably arguable.

I've never recieved one yet lol.

Not necessarily. The traffic was stopped about 50 feet before the light. I'm not going to stop 8 car lengths away from a truck! It was a slow moving line through the rotations of the light.

Hmm. Idk, all I know is that the excuse "the truck obscured my sight" means you were too close to the truck.

That's how I've seen it written.

I agree, you still had a shot at arguing it with a cop, and I undertand your argument. I never disagreed with that, just pointing out what I've heard over the years.
