ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

The rules for the overall forum can be found here:

Read them. You will be expected to follow them.

    Power Window Master Switch Issues

Hey guys, it's been almost 3 weeks since I bought my CB ACCORD and since then only the driver's side power window works.

I suspected that the master switch might b faulty, and I got one off a wrecked CB. Hooked up the replacement switch earlier 2day but the problem is still there.

Has anyone on the forum ever bypassed the master switch so that all the windows can operate individually without it?

At this point, I'd really like to go that route.

    Thanks

    Is window lock on?

I believe there is a control module in the driver door that controls the windows and locks, but I cant remember if it only controls the locks?

Someone correct me if Im wrong.

I've toggled the window lock switch "ON" & "OFF" but the windows still don't work with neither the current master switch nor the replacement that I bought.

I would get a factory service manual and figure out what the problem is with a troubleshooting guide before you start cutting up your wiring and rigging things.

          1) Have you checked the fuses?
          2) Follow as Jarrett says, go through the flow chart.

Car Safety / General Servicing Checks --------Basic suspension checks

A "Finished" project car is never finished until its been sold.

If at first you don't succeed, Try again. Don't give up too easily, persistance pays off in the end.

I can confirm this works. Took a few minutes to download but the password works and it looks like a legit manual. Thanks for the link!

This copy of the manual is way better. It has seperate headings so I could click on the sections and search easier. Though my old manual is identical without the section divisions. Thanks. Nice share.

                      Windows Fixed!!!

Last weekend, while on google, I found a forum thread where a guy was having the same power window issues that I was having (windows go down fine, but won't go back up).

What the guy did was, he disassembled the power window main switch and cleaned the contacts for each window switch and that solved the problem.

I was a bit "iffy" about doing the dis assembly, but I did it and thankfully it worked!!!! So now all 4 of my windows are working perfectly via the driver's side main switch.

Hope maybe this info can help fellow tuners who may be having the same issues.
