ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

The rules for the overall forum can be found here:

    Electrical issues galore.

I recently purchased this Accord. It has a few problems. To begin the speedometer only works when the lights are off. The drivers side front turn signal didn't work until I made a new ground for it. While fixing that I discovered damage in that corner. The wipers don't want to turn off easily, and turning on the lights can turn on the wipers. Any help as far as where to start would be greatly appreciated. Also I forgot to mention the left turn signal causes the speedometer to bounce gradually down to zero as it's left on, and the cruise control doesn't work.

Def sounds like a loose or poor ground somewhere to me. I could not begin to tell you where all of them are. Someone else can probably chime in them. Do you own a digital volt meter? If not I highly recommend one. Has saved me thousands of dollars checking things before throwing money at them

I have a dmm I used to make sure the starter was getting a signal to the relay before I replaced it. I'm a novice when it comes to electrical stuff. Also the car has been in an accident and the motor and interior has been replaced at some point, I think. The car is an 1990 ex according to vin, but lacks automatic shoulder belts and has an air bag in the steering wheel as well as a block stamped with f22a1. I am questioning the person skills who did everything or whether I could get it all working as it should.

Wow... Such a mess in your electrical circuit here, I'm kinda beginning to
wonder if the previous owner has snipped and patched all the electrical wires
when he was drunk or something.. :b

you should just start fresh with an uncut main wire harness from a JY car. That would honestly take hours and hours of time to troubleshoot, when you can just get one from a JY car that's plug and play.

I was thinking the same thing. I don't even know if that would work. Nothing was left unmolested. The car doesn't have a sunroof. Being an ex it should right? I picked up the car cheap, but I'm beginning to find out why. I am almost considering finding another Honda.

I was looking at car-part and they list three different harnesses; engine, dash, and body. Idk if I would need just one or all three of them or what. My guess would be just the body wiring harness.

I would get the engine and dash harness since your speedometer and wipers are affected. But if you can get all three from a clean untouched CB7, that would be ideal.

Hell you might want to purchase a wrecked from the back CB7 that's totalled. Sometimes you can get those for 200 bucks, would certainly be cheaper than buying those harnesses individually from a JY.

I bought an entire CB7 with a blown headgasket for 300 and sold it for 2800 after investing a total of 1500.

Thanks for your advice. I'm going to do a little phone work and see what I can find. I like the idea of getting a whole car. There are a few other pieces I could use I'm sure.
