ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

The rules for the overall forum can be found here:

Read them. You will be expected to follow them.

i personally wouldn't ever go with a cold air intake unless it was only driven in warm, dry weather and no other time. that's just me, though.

just stick a cone filter into your oem air intake arm.

you'd benefit more from a bigger throttle body than a tube.

no noticable hp diffrerence between short ram and a cold air intake imo

but yeah...if you get rain less then a week a year I'd go with the cold air intake...too much of a hassle to take you intake off to a short ram every time it rains....

i personally like cold air intakes w/ a good cone type filter such as aem or k&n and would also use an aem bypass valve for winter driving

you can also do a semi CAI, by getting some tubing ans hiding the filter behind the battery to keep it away from the engine heat and whats good about it is that you do not have to drill/cut bigger holes and you still have the intake in the engine bay.

try searching it up i've seen a dew cb's who have this.

I had a CAI for about 6 months. The tip of the filter was about 3" off the ground.
Does it rain where I live? Hell yes.
Did my car ever hydrolock? No.

It's since been cut into a "long sri".

I swear we need a sticky about short ram vs. cold air intakes, basically pointing out the pros and cons of each, whether or not to spend the big $$$ on a name brand system or just to get one off ebay, etc...

Do I need to write one or something?

EDIT: And no this is not a rant of any sort, if it were a rant I would have yelled stuff about f***ing newbies always asking these sort of questions.... LOL, so again it's not a rant, just a question.

                    It won't matter.
No one reads the stickies anyways, and they're also too lazy to search for 1 of 1000 threads about SRI vs CAI.
