I bought some APC side markers that were clear and painted them amber. Then I measured exactly how this thread showed and installed. Easy to do, and they look great at night. Even if you don't have JDM 1 piece headlights you can still wire the corner turn signal and the sidemarkers together by using a pig tail. it's not too difficult and they both work in unison when signalling and when using caution. Good write up
Since I have JDM one-piece headlights, I only use one of the two bulbs that go into the corner light. I made that custom wiring harness so I could just hook my sidemarker into the unused stock wiring. In this illustration it is #28. That is the bulb that is not used when using JDM one-piece headlights. I removed the socket that's conntected to the stock wiring and plugged in the custom wiring harness I made.
If this is still confusing, I'll try to get pictures of what I am talking about.
so you only use one bulb? i was wondering about that. It doesnt make your blinkers any faster right? Because i was lookin into the front bumper stay ons... this time with my 2dr. Hmm..... let me know how this turns out
I am no longer using this forum name.
You can find me as jdm_inspired... I'm starting all over again since I got another CB.
Clean car and nice write-up. One concern though. Are the only things holding the sidemarkers in place the fact that they fit snug to the fender wall and the sockets? I didn't see any type of clip or anything on the back of the lights.

I just wanted to post a huge thanks for this DIY.
Extremely helpful. Did mine and looks great.
I can't express enough how important it is to put the extra masking tape around the area that is being cut. My dremel caught an edge and made a nice little "pig tail" in my paint. With the extra tape around the edges, I would have saved myself that little mistake. I gives just enough protection if you happen to slip. Of course the tape won't protect against the dremel for long.
