Grumpys93 : 1993 Accord LX

    So did a little work today, nothing major. I finished up the wire tuck in the engine bay. I also mounted the alternator bracket, driver side bracket and cleaned up the garage. Now time for pictures.
    I need to pull the car out to scrub and degrease the engine bay.


    Then I have to decide on what I want to do about the driver side mount. I am getting annoyed with these mounts. Not sure if I should grind the bracket to fit the hump, put washers in between the bracket and mount or just say screw it and go back to my DIY poly mounts.

      I just cut that corner out of my mount bracket with a hacksaw. I've had no problems with it.

            I might have to try that diy poly, my esp insert is falling apart on the driver side.

              I wonder if there is a way to fill the ESP mounts. I know I would have to come up with a jig to hold the sleeve in place. I might try it.

                Well I had some spare time today so I port matched the plenum to the throttle body. The pictures are kind of hard to tell, but I took a straight edge to make sure the 70mm goes all the way through the plenum.





                So the intake manifold is 75% complete. I still have to install a couple sensors and buy injectors, fuel pressure gauge and regulator. But money is tight so I am just going to focus now on cleaning the engine bay and transmission.

                  Yesterday I bleed the brakes with the help of my wife, so now I can stop the car from rolling if it ever gets out of the garage. I also started to clean the engine bay, I got half way through it but plan to go over it again after I finish the first round of cleaning. Looks pretty good if I do say so myself, Can you tell which side I did first? Sorry for the crappy blurry picture.

                        Nice work on the porting of the plenum. I need to do that on one of my spare intakes. Also with the wire tuck and the cleaning it's starting to look really nice. The intercooler looks mean in the mockup on the jack.

                            @jaykilla Yes I did the passenger side as well. I may still tuck the fuse box, but I still haven't made up my mind.

                            Yesterday I finished cleaning up the engine bay, now I need to find someone who welds to fill holes. I also removed the seats to give the interior a decent clean. I plan to remove the carpet and backseat later. But I did vaccum it all out.

                              Started working on the manual steering rack conversion today. I didn't get very far though. Halfway through the tear down and cleaning process, I had to stop to make dinner for the family. Hopefully this weekend I can finish it up.

                                It's a great start to the project! Looks good and you should be happy with the result.
