Well problem solved by that shop. They said they had to heat and cool one of the axle nuts and it zipped off. The other they said came off no problem with their gun setup.

Oh well........ glad they are done and I can start working on them again. The threads are fine too so all is well.

The Devil was in those nuts. Glad they are finally off!

When I pulled my axles out, the inner joints came undone just like yours. I heard on here that when you put them back together, they usually fail not long after. I got new Cardoe Select axles for under $100 on Rockauto. Are you sure you just don't want to get new ones?

Oh i hear ya on that. Especially since i put the snap ring back on the boot with pliers and not the actual proper tool. I may get new axles........ really not sure yet. But glad to make some progress......

That has to be awesome. I'm about to move into a place with a garage in two weeks! I can't wait! Working outside in a backyard full of the four other guys' filth is getting real old real quick. No covering for the car is also a huge drag.

Not sure why but I'm having the hardest time getting the axle seal out. It's like it's cooked to the transmission.

Nevermind. i feel so stupid. Was picking at it with a screwdriver for an hour or so, getting little pieces out etc. Then tried using the prybar i used to take the axle out and the whole thing popped out no problem

Same set. I took them apart and re-seated them, re-greased, re-did the clamp. They are good to go!
