Is it possible to safely put an H22 AT on an F22a engine? I heard the H22 transmission revs higher though so it might blow the engine up, idk. I'm sure it would be much faster and stronger than the F22a's transmission, that's why I want to know if it can or has been done safely and easily, maybe with some basic head mods or something because of the over revving.

Your ECU should protect your engine from overrevs. The problem will be at WOT your ECU and TCU will be fighting each other. Your ECU will cap engine speed at 6300 and your TCU won't shift until ~7300 or so.
One thing you might be able to do is run an F22 TCU on an H22 AT, but that will really only work if it shifts by RPM. IF it shifts by speed you will run into the same problem.
Interesting idea though, especially with all the cheap AT LSD transmissions out there. I've seen Prelude ATs chirp 2nd with H22s

On the original Accord trans the clutches went out over the course of a couple days in all forward and reverse gears. Not sure why other than the frequent abuse of an old tranny. The MP1A started letting go after the radiator popped and coolant got into the atf.Last edited by CyborgGT; 03-10-2013, 01:36 AM.

I had an MP0A or MP1A bolted on my H22a, whatever's the LSD Auto, and that thing was badass.
Really made driving Automatic fun. Compared to the F22 auto, the H22 auto had much more rapid shifts.
I paired that up with a POF TCM, shifted somewhere around 7200 rpm.
That might not work out so well if you have a POF with an F22 engine though. Maybe try seeing what an H23 auto trans TCM shifts at. That might be a better fit.

my h22 poolude was an auto. after i took the h22 out for my accord, I replaced it with a f20a (so i could sell it as a complete car.) I put the h22 auto box (which at WOT would shift at over 7000rpm) onto the f20a (which rev limits at around 6500rpm) and from a standstill, at WOT it would bounce off the limiter once before changing to 2nd, after that it just bounced on the limiter and wouldn't change until you let off the throttle slightly. simply adjusting the TV cable would've solved that issue, but i sold the car before i got around to doing that lol

Maybe what i'll do is turbo the auto then when the tranny blows up i'll get a manual and put the turbo on that. But can an auto turbo be done safely and effectively or is it a dumb idea?“Speed has never killed anyone. Suddenly becoming stationary, that's what gets you.”
