ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

The rules for the overall forum can be found here:

Read them. You will be expected to follow them.

    93' Accord Wagon LX

Hi my name is Alonzo, I have a completely stock 93' Accord Wagon LX and I am seeking some guidance on what to modify first. I am looking for performance more than anything and will fix it up cosmetically along the way, the reason for me wanting to modify it is because I figured that rather than buy a new car I might as well modify this wagon I got for free. Eventually I do want to engine swap it with a H22 which I've heard would be the easiest but that's a way's out from now, thank you guys for your help!

A free car is a car that likely has some issues. I would fix those issues first. Namely any suspension or braking issues, as those are areas that are likely the worse for wear at this point. Those areas also provide opportunity to upgrade while replacing worn parts. For example, if your sway bar mounting or end link bushings are shot, replace them urethane bushings. It's a cheap way to restore some of the car's performance, while improving handling at the same time. Same thing with brakes. If your pads need to be replaced and your rotors are grooved, consider swapping to a rotor-over-hub setup or even going to a 5-lug knuckle. There are many options that will allow you to increase rotor and caliper size to aid in improved braking.

Before you start worrying about power modifications, ensure that the car is in good enough shape to handle increased power. If your car can't handle or stop at the limit of its current power, then adding more to it will just exacerbate the issues.
My Members' Ride Thread - It's a marathon build, not a sprint. But keep me honest on the update frequency!

I just recently replaced the front rotors and pads but only with OE parts. I got ahead of myself and forgot about my suspension! Thank you so much for your help I will start off with these mods and gradually move up to power.

Can't complain about a free car. But I'd have to agree on what was said above. Make sure everything is in working order prior to modifying. Suspension, brakes, bushings, seals and gaskets, plugs, wires , fluids, etc.

Agreed, especially check out your Lower Ball Joints. Mine were shot when I purchased my CB.

To add to what everyone else mentioned a good idea is to park it in an area where you can monitor what may leak from underneath. A free car is great but something leads me to believe there may be underlying problems that have not reared their head.

Check for fluid leaks. See how your idle is going. It is very possible it may need a tune up. New plugs, wires, rotor cap, pcv valve, fuel filter. Let it run to make sure your fans come on(both of them). So it does not overheat. I know this is dumb but make sure you check your brake lights so you don't get pulled over in your new ride!

If I come up with anything else I will let you know.
