    Braided coolant hoses

    Hey,

Anyone know where to get everything I need to make braided coolant hoses? Not the fake ones, the real deal Obviously I'll need someone to weld ends on a thermostat and the radiator, but what ends do I get? -16AN? Where do I find the hose and what size does it need to be?

    Thanks

There are several places, including Jegs and Summit. I've bought from https://www.anplumbing.com/ and had good experience. Here's another one that specializes, but I can't vouch for them: http://www.anfittingsdirect.com

Earl's is a pretty well-trusted brand. I've been looking at Vibrant components for myself.

RyWire and K-Tuned use -16AN on their radiator and water neck components, so that's probably a good size for both street and track use.

So the braided line is not so much the problem, where do I buy the fittings to weld on to the thermostat and the radiator? (upper / lower rad & upper / lower engine connections )

Earl's male end -16AN weld-on fitting in bare aluminum: http://www.jegs.com/i/Earls/361/997116/10002/-1

I thought I remembered there being bolt-on fittings for H22s on the thermostat and front water neck, but I'm not seeing them now.

yes i found the page at Earl's too. So I'm guessing one would take the termostat, cut the end off, and weld the fitting on. And do the same for the the rad? I'm assuming there's no adapter for this 16an fitting?

Not that I'm able to find. Looks like it's all cut-and-weld.

Has anyone ever heard of folks having issues with this setup?

Edit: So for the thermostat I'm assuming the 16an fitting is the correct diameter internally?
