ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

The rules for the overall forum can be found here:

I would suggest going into the "SWAPs" section of the forum and on the first page you will see a thread dedicated to this swap. Another thing you can do is use the search function and find it.

TracieS did a wonderful job putting together a swap list for us and the thread is here.
It is the same thread you would find searching.

From my understanding the F20B is almost identical to the H22 swap, minus reverting back to OBD1.

          F20b swap help

Hello guys new to the forum, I stared ordering things before I have my head on wright. lol

I have a 95 Honda accord with a F22b1. The motor whent bad a month ago. So I whent out and got me a F20b trying to do the swap.

          Well I got a Rywire OBD2 8pin to OBD1 Distributor Adapter

A set of 1998-02 Honda Acura Fuel Injectors x4

A upper h22 intake manifold from a 96 honda prelude.

But I have been reading the post's here and some one was saying that I can use the f22b Harness that I have? Just converting the things to obd1. Now does that mean that because I have vtec on the old motor I can take the vtec solenoid from the f22 or it has to be from the H22 and will my old harness have the vtec wires for it.

And will all the other sensors plug in just fine. or will I have to make them work as well.

          Thanks guys

You're right. You did order parts too early. Very generic ones at that. What model of car did you get the injectors from? Just giving a year range says nothing. Also, that distributor adapter you got converts an OBD2 engine harness to an OBD1 distributor. That's useful for installing an OBD2 engine into an OBD1 car. You're doing the opposite. You're also probably best making one of those adapters yourself with connectors from the junkyard. There are just too many different plugs from the different harnesses and distributors.

I'll detail the most OEM-like install and and variations to that, of which there are many, will have to be found through searching.

Get OBD1 H22A injectors. If you want OBD2 H22A injectors then you'll have to eliminate the resistor box.

The plenum you've got is good assuming it was from an H23A1 or H22A1. You'll also need the throttle body there as well, or an aftermarket one.

The distributor is a little trickier. The one that comes on an F20B and your car is an internal coil. You'll need to cut the connectors off of your F22B1 distributor and solder it to your F20B distributor.

You'll also need to wire up the knock sensor on the back of the block and add wires for IABs. There are subharnesses available on eBay for this purpose. They're fairly cheap also. They go directly from what they're attached to straight to the ECU. Speaking of the ECU, the '94-'97 Accord requires you to swap pins A6 and A11 in the harness at the ECU plugs before attempting to use any other ECU besides the POA ECU found in your car.

Then you'll need an H22A header. Whether or not you get one from a '93-'96 Prelude VTEC or '97-'01 Prelude you'll still need to modify your exhaust. If you have a nice exhaust you don't want to cut up then you can get a test pipe shortened to fit.

That's all I can think of for now.

So now this thread is about an F20B swap into a 95 Accord? That's nice.

Yeah, I was in a good mood last night and didn't feel like griping. They always think their half-assed reason for posting these types of questions in a partially-related thread on a partially-related forum are good enough anyway that I didn't feel it would do any good to point out.

If the OP comes back asking about his own "stock VTEC solenoid", I'm banning this new guy.

Hopefully he'll be able to use the information that applies to his own car, and determine which things involving the 5th generation don't apply.
