Hey all
seen this thread is for the CB7 my Dads is a CB3 are they the same as http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=203346 also is it in the same location under the battery tray? how easy is it to remove from the top of the car? Thanks in advance also we put a loop on the plug on the passenger side (UK) did not come up with any codes however the engine management light stays on. the issue we have is the pump/motor is noisy Last edited by avcar; 06-17-2018 at 02:22 PM. |

The one in that thread had been removed from a wrecked car that was completely disassembled for parts. I'm pretty sure I had the engine and virtually everything else above it removed first, so I can't tell you how easy (or not) it is to remove in an otherwise complete car.

OEM service manual indicates you just need to remove the battery tray to gain access for removal.

I looked at my paper copy of the OEM service manual.

Avcar, Sounds like what you have is ABS pump over run. Getting the pump out is not too hard. I fixed my pump over run like a year ago so my recollection might not be perfect. Pull the battery and the tray below it. Then you can access the pump. There should be 3 12mm bolts holding it down. Use a long 3/8 extension and you can get to them easier. You need to have something ready to plug the fluid line comming down to it also. Once you get the line off and plugged. Then just unplug the harness plug and it should come out.
You gotta crack this thing open and get down to the sliders inside. Hand sand the sliders and the openings till they move in and out freely. Then reassemble and reinstall. You probably need to bleed the ABS also.
