transmission MAJOR slippage HELP ME!!!!!

i just bought a 91 accord. its a automatic. i knew it needed transmission repair. i drove the car home on the hwy after buying it. got up to about 70mph. (no license plate lol)

1. sometimes when i start the car, that s-light is blinking. sometimes its not
2. when i go from park to a forward gear, it takes about 30 sec to 45 sec for the car to start moving forward on its own. reverse works fine.
3. while im driving the car acts like it dont want to shift to the next gear. gets up to about 25 i think
4. i turn off the car and start over.

i only drive it up and down my street.
whats the problem? torque converter, solenoids, sensors? or should i just go buy a tranny for 250 at the junkyard.

You need a new tranny.I had the same problem so, I did a 5peed swap...

Dumb question, but have you checked the fluid? Is it at normal level? Is it red or brown? Does it smell like burnt vomit?

your tranny is shot mine was doing the same thing be4 it just stopped engaging gears. wow $250 seems WAY high priced for a auto tranny. My local pnp I can get on for under $100. Or do what was said above 5speed swap if its not your DD. If its your DD Id just replace your auto b/c if YOU do it yourself w/ little to no experience (not saying you dont have any) your cars downtime will MOSTLIKLY be a while.

its new fluids. just changed it. tranny still messin up

make sure your shift cable didn't come off the trans. Thats what happened w/ mine and it wouldn't shift for the longest time, and then would engage. Just remove the plate underneath the trans that covers it and inspect to see if that 10mm bolt is still in its place.

i was thinking of changing the oil on my transmission as well it has little slip at first and someone told me that its not good chaning the transmission oil on a car thats as old as a cb becuase its "used to the oil" ?

i just want to confirm this becuase i want to change it and add lucas stop slip to start treating it right so itll last me .. ???

I wouldent personly put anything but honda atf in honda p.o.s trannys. Im sorry i just really really really hate autos
