Heat not working

Before the forums went down I made a post asking how would I go about fixing the heat in my car. We are starting to see 40F nights here in central Florida and I don't' see it getting any better soon. And my car is being (quite comically) a bastard. Hot air when it's hot, cold air when it's cold.

I know why I don't have cold air, I need to have my Freon evacuated / redone ,etc. What can I do about the heat? I remember some pretty helpful replies and some DIY tasks I can do to get the heat working, so I need to ask again. Thank you!

Also, a few questions .How does your temp gauge look at driving ? 1/4 , 1/2 , 3/4 going up on the dial .. Make sure the coolant hose that goes into the fire wall is hooked up properly ( I have seen ppl loop these around to avoid a leaky heater core ) also check the return hose as well. Good luck and keep us posted .

I did have a problem when air got in my heater core and vapor locked the thing. Had to pull the heater return hose while the car was running with the heater on and burp the air out. Then finished with opening the bleed port to get rid of the remaining air. This happened after I drained and flushed my system. Hope this helps.

I had a problem with the heat not working in my wagon..husband figured out that it was the valve that opens to let the heat blow in wouldn't open

^^^ man i had some heat problems i wasnt fully hot and get hot fast enough my thermostat senor was bad that ever since then it get so hot my eyes run water i gotta keep it on low

I'll check that, thank you for the suggest! My heat gauge is usualy 2/4 (or halfway) when I'm driving..

Old thread, but I wanted to update it for any future readers, my problem was simply the valve that is near the firewall was stuck, turning the knobs for climate control never worked. I get amazing heat now. Thanks for the help guys!

i had no heat and then attached them and pulled it away from the firewall now i have heat but the climate control switches have no tension and dont control nothing when turned

Yes, that is it. The placement looks different from mine, but more or less that is it. My knob has no tension either Now I just adjust that lever when I want heat or cold air.

start with the simple things... check the knob in the dashboard first... pull the knob out and see if it is turning the hot to cold location... mine was busted (the knob on the inside and never turn from hot to cold or cold to hot)
