ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

The rules for the overall forum can be found here:

Read them. You will be expected to follow them.

    odometer ?

This may be a stupid question as I have never heard it mentioned. Is there any way to turn back an odometer to roughly around the mileage on a swap? Its not a big deal at all but if its possible and easily worth it, I'd like to just to keep track. Thanks

You'd probably need to take the cluster apart and reposition the numbers that way (and then reassemble it properly.) I don't believe there's any way to just rewind it.

It'd still be illegal. Even with a swap, the car itself will still have that many miles on it.

Well, i guess technically it wouldn't be illegal as long as you disclosed the discrepancy when you sell the car... It's only illegal if you try to claim that mileage as being accurate.

Still, I've messed with a cluster and it didn't look easy to take it apart and put it back together effectively... then again, I'm clumsy. Another member has a fairly recent thread about replacing the odometer spool... I don't think he got any definite answers. Doesn't seem to be something commonly done.
I'd say pick up a junkyard cluster to play with, to see if it's something worth attempting on your good one.

Ive taken the cluster apart before, it's not to terribly hard to do just go slow and take your time. I'm assuming you will have to manually roll the numbers back as I haven't heard of another way. Hopefully you don't have 37xxxx miles like I do, if so you'll be at it a while!

take a picture of the original mileage before you mess with anything cause in a few years you wont remember the original mileage

just go scrounge around a jy and find a odo in one of the cars thats close to the milage u want and pick that out of the cluster and fit it in your cluster.
