So this is a super simple DIY on making a coolant overflow tank.
I'm sure a ton of other people have done it, but I didn't see a DIY and have nothing better to do.
I just installed an intake and noticed the OEM coolant overflow tank is huge and ugly, so I made a new, much smaller and better looking one.
I started with one of these beer can/ bottle things.
I know a lot of beer companies make these, maybe even some pop brands.
And the cap from my OEM tank.
On the bottom of the OEM cap there is a locking pin.
Pull that pin and the nipple will slide right out of the cap.
Next take the cap from the bottle.
Drill a hole in the center, or do what i did and take a sharp kitchen knife and make a + shape and just round out the hole with a screw driver.
Be sure not to make the hole too big as you want a snug fit.
Then put the nipple through the cap and put the pin on the underside.
This is what it should look like.
Then screw the cap back on and you're done.
To mount it you can use zip ties, or what I'm going to do and buy a bicycle cup holder and bolt it into the bay.
Optional: To have a nice brushed aluminum finish just take high grit sandpaper and the brand finish will come right off.
Total price is probably under $10.
Don't remember how much the beer can cost and the bicycle cup holder, if I remember correctly, is around $5 from Walmart.
Hope this helped some people out and definitely cleans up the engine bay.
