    '90 EX door lock question

My '90 EX has manual door locks... I guess they all do. Ever since I've owned this thing, I've wondered what the little silver switch right next to the lock does... when I push it, I hear a delayed clicking sound but it affects nothing.

To the best of my knowledge, only the DX had manual locks, all others had power locks. The silver switch is supposed to lock/unlock all the doors. If you're trying to lock the driver door with the door open, it won't let you (to prevent you from locking your keys in the car). Does the switch on the passenger side work like it is supposed to?

Neither of the silver switches do anything. They both make a clicking sound... kinda like a solenoid sound, but nothing happens...

And mine's a '90 EX, it has the little silver switch and a manual switch on both doors.

So "both doors" indicates coupe? Both switches should lock (down) and unlock (up) both doors. Do the lock levers move at all when you press the switch?
