Calling all painters!!! advise needed asap!

I am moving at the end of the month and this place is considered "high end" so the expect it to be painted. my kids and there toys made quite a few dents and dings in the walls so I used spackle accordingly and painted over. To me it looks like its not going to match cause of the paint fading after 4-5 years since this place was built...

so what should I do? take pictures of the walls and have the faded paint matched or am I being too critical of the paint cause of the fact that I know where I painted?

I guess I should mention that the walls aren't white they are a two different shades of brown light and dark

You can take a paint chip off the wall and take it to your local paint store, they can color match it. And your not crazy, when you paint a small area of a dried wall, it will "flash" and you can see it from an angle clear as day. It usually involves painting a much larger area and fading it, so the area isn't as noticeable.

After a tenant lives in a residence for so long I think the land lord is required to paint if its needed when said tenant leaves. You should still have to repair holes and what not, but honestly I wouldn't be too worried about the paint not matching. They shouldn't expect you to repaint the whole place or at least that's how it is here.

Just my 2 cents, and now im broke, lol.

matching a 4-5yr paintjob aint as easy as you think and most of the times it wont match

you can dust it, if the paint still looks good, have the painter sand it down, and dust paint on the whole car to make everything match then re-clear it

at that point you can also choose to go a darker shade or throw pearl on it

stock colors just dont do it for me no more

You realize he's talking about painting the walls of his apartment, right Oscar?

I'd suggest just repainting the entire thing. From my experience, using a quality paint makes the job MUCH easier. Cheap paint may save some money, but you'll need to do many coats for it to look right. Good paints are often single coat applications.
Call the landlord and ask if they would require a repaint, and if they expect the same color scheme, or if you can just do a solid white paintjob.

Honestly, depending on how cool your landlord is, you might be able to just patch up the wall

Once you start painting you'll be able to see where you stop, so just spot painting looks shitty...

If you want it to look good, pick a nice color that is close to pre existing color and paint the whole wall...
