I have multiple compliments for you my dear sir:

    1. That is a very good looking RSX you have there, not too wild but just perfect.

    2. Photography is amazing, every shot is well taken and captivating. What camera you used?

    3. That seems like a nice place to fish in, that stream screams fly fishing and not to mention the lake.

Got Mugen solid front strut and rear "mid" bars. Second-hand, of course; they're discontinued.

Those welds look sweet, looks like a good product!

You're in the same boat as me with your DD. My 04 TSX with 160,000miles. Great car!! but now needs work. Can't spend $ on new cam gears for the cb7 when I spend on the Acura. $1200 for tires, had to adjust the slave cylinder as I know the clutch is getting old. The suspension, well you can hear it. The wind noise on the drivers side door. The drivers side seat ... the sloppy gear shifter, worn brakes.

          It never ends

The good news is it's not a ford

Yup. I hit 200k recently, so maintenance is what I'm after now. I only got the bars because a friend is selling his RSX, so I took advantage. The car could use probably all fluids, timing chain, water pump... I'd just rather do it all now than risk getting stranded.

Went back to Estes Park, this time with some friends. We also went through another canyon I hadn't driven before.

... and yeah, winter is still lingering here.

I just got done installing a new VTEC solenoid. The car was throwing a code for either that or the oil pressure switch attached to it. It's rare for those things to fail, so it could have just been a clogged filter, or the fact that the gasket was leaking. I did have an oil pressure switch on the transmission go out on me a while back. But since the car's got 203,000 miles I just replaced the whole thing. Peace of mind. Painted the heat shield high-temp black to help against corrosion, but in hindsight I should have shot the entire solenoid in high temp clear to preserve its new appearance. Oh well. Nice and easy job, and wasn't too expensive.

You still getting snow in NY, too? It might bother me if snow-covered mountains weren't so beautiful.

These last few days, I've just been wishing my a/c worked, haha.

My hood's clear coat keeps getting worse, so I finally tried to DIY it. It's not perfect, but considering I attacked this thing with sand paper, rattle can clear, more sand paper, and two stages of soft compounds, I'm pretty proud of the hours I put in. It's still looking a bit dull around the lock shown, so that could do with going over with the soft compounds again.

Note that I only worked on the driver side of the hood, just to see how well I could do. You can see the radiator vent is still rough; I went over everything from the bottom of that vent lip over. I'll get around to the rest later now that I know I can actually improve it and have it hold out until I can afford a real Mugen hood.

The passenger side, to show how bad the flaking is. The same body line on the driver side was just as bad, as well as the edge of the hood running along the driver side fender:

Driver side as it sits right now:

^ I've got a 6-hour drive planned out for some time in the next few days, so I should be posting some nice Autumn photos

But I guess this is the start of me stockpiling black interior parts? I went straight to a junkyard the morning I got a notification that they got an '06 base in, hoping to score some black cloth 05-06 front seats. I got there just four hours after opening and they were already gone, though. But I did luck out on a black cloth interior, and the back of the car was in excellent shape, so I still grabbed the rear bench, the trunk carpet, and my second all-season trunk mat. There are some hard depressions in the trunk carpet, as you can see, but otherwise it all cleaned up to look damn near new.

I swapped black carpet in a long time ago to replace my gray because there was this massive read stain in the front-passenger footwell when I got the car:

I don't know about anyone else, but I think that contrasting two-tone looks awesome, so that's the theme I'm going after with my interior. It's not something I'm putting full focus into finishing any time soon, and I'm not sure which parts I want black and which I want gray, but I suppose for now I'll just start collecting as many black pieces as I can when I have the spare cash and see what I can come up with. All I know is that I hate leather seats!

Kind of sad to think I haven't gone for a good drive since snow was last on the ground, and now it's already that time of year again. I had a drive planned for this week, but it's further in the mountains and I'm not sure of conditions; it's been so nice out, I wasn't expecting the snow this morning.

Took that drive! Started around Black Hawk, Colorado, a little mountain casino town, and followed Peak to Peak Highway north to Estes Park, where I went with the Focus and STi. The sun was being especially obnoxious for photos, but the roads were amazing. Elevation was roughly 8000ft the whole way...

Finally some real snow in the city!!!

Yeah, I need to fix the clocking on my driver-side projector. I had to open it up to fix the shroud that had fallen off - guess it wasn't glued on that side, my bad, lol - and wasn't thinking about the clocking when I was trying to wedge it back in place.

Nothing really going on with the car lately, though. I've been trying to get some Skunk2 LCAs on, but the extended bolts they come with have threads that are ever so slightly off and I'm not sure if I want to risk the damage. OE bolts thread right in by hand; these don't and are giving me a bit of metal shavings. On top of that, Honda decided to use an incredibly rare bolt size in the first place, so I can't find extended flange bolts ANYWHERE! Local or online. Regular hex bolts, sure, but they use monster 22mm hexes and install too close together (see the triangle arrangement below) for that size to allow room for a socket. I e-mailed K-Tuned to see if they sell their bolts by themselves, without the arms. I got a "sorry, no"... meaning their shit's probably made in China, too.

At this point, I'm debating leaving out S2's thick bronze plate-washer there and using the stock bolts on top of thinner, individual washers. I'll have to find some time when it's dryer out, though. The fact that I've only been able to find this complaint one other time leads me to believe that people are not noticing and using S2's bolts anyway and not having problems. Maybe...
