ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

The rules for the overall forum can be found here:

    Megan Header and Cat

I noticed that Megan headers and cats are very inexpensive, so it got me wondering, are they cheap quality wise. I know that you get what you pay for, but how is the quality on Megan parts. Also, I have an Apexi WS2 catback, and I was wondering if the Megan header and cat would make it louder or not.

Megan headers are good, how good that I don't know and from what I read apexi ws2 are pretty quite and adding a cat would really help at keeping the exhaust tone down. I hope that answered your questions.

i had a megan header on my h22a and i could tell it had cleaner welds than the noname brand header i replaced it with (megan had a hole in it from scraping).. but other than that, they were identical.. dont know about the cat though..

Megan is one of the better cheap brands out there. I'd get a Megan header if I HAD to have a header, and didn't feel like spending the money for something truly high quality, like the Bisimoto header (for the F22A, Bisimoto really makes the only header worth buying... pricey, but well worth it... and still far cheaper than anything comparable)

I don't know about the Megan catalytic converters. I'd probably go with SMSP for a high flow cat. Currently, I just have whatever my exhaust shop gave me. Nothing "performance" oriented. Our cats aren't very restrictive anyway.

well the WS2 is pretty quiet and I want to make it a bit louder, so I was thinking Megan headers might do the trick, Im not sure though.

I have a Megan Header and the Apex-i WS2 Catback exhaust. For me, I noticed NO change in sound from when I had the stock header to when I out on the Megan. It was JUST as quiet.

My AEM CAI is louder than my exhaust.

Yeah my SRI is louder than my exhaust, from inside the car anyways. I'm not really sure how loud it is outside. Do you thinking addind a hi-flow cat and the header might possibly make it louder?

It might but I don't think it would all that much louder.

hmmm, I'm looking at Magnaflow cats. How much less restrictive do you think they are compared to the OEM cat, or a Megan cat?
