    F22 motor mounts question

Hey guys, I have a couple mounts going bad so I'm gonna replace them but before I do I was just wondering what you guys thoughts were on the best route to go. Do you think it'd be better to go with all new complete OEM standard mounts or if the inserts are any better.. What do you guys prefer?

Also I apologize if this isn't the appropriate place to post this. If so please let me know.

If this was a track vehicle than maybe inserts make sense. But probably the best bet is a set of Anchor mounts.

They are literally 1/5 the price of OEM and look identical, down to the rubber flashing and casting marks. The same can not be said for other aftermarket brands - I've tried a couple and the tooling is definitely different.

Go to RockAuto and price a whole set of Anchors, each one is in the $15-20 range. Very cheap! The rear mount is a bit more.

I was curious about an OEM rear motor mount DX/LX style. From Majestic Honda it was almost $160 by itself. So I went with rockauto.com Beck/Arnley it has the same casting as OEM as well, I think I might have paid $40 for it. I've used Anchor as well and haven't had any issues with them either.

Thank guys. I've been leaning towards them myself but I've seen alot of talk about inserts lately and wasn't sure. I just know I need new ones I'm getting some pretty bad vibration and I just hit 310k so i may as well just change em all now.

The rear mount on my EX wasn't available through Anchor so I used Beck/Arnley for that one also, looked just like OE. No issues so far.

Sounds good man. What's up with the mounts with the vacuum lines running to them? Is that just for an automatic or something? I have a 92 ex manual if that helps.

Yes the vacuum assist rear mount is for auto's only. There is a solenoid that moves a piece of rubber in the mount. When you stop in gear, the rubber moves from the upright position to sideways, making the mount softer, so when your sitting there, there aren't as many vibrations. As soon as you start to move it moves the rubber back to upright making the mount stiffer again.

Another option is you could also get them from Amazon for ~$80 total/shipped.

Or just weld them up solid with some scrap metal for free

Thanks for clarifying that for me I was curious about the way that set up worked. That's my main problem right now is vibrations at idle but my car runs smoothly so I'm positive it's the mounts.

Also I did see the package on Amazon and eBay with all of them for $69-$80 but I wasn't sure of the quality of them. And trust me man I wish I had a welder lol I have a couple of body panels to weld in on my quarters as well.

Anchor mounts are actually the ones sold at AutoZone and Oreilly's just in a different box, the cheaper ones we see are surplus and rejects they could be off by a little bit but still work. I worked for both companies so i seen it all people would buy a mount from us one day and return the one they bought online that was less than 3/4 the price.
