ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

The rules for the overall forum can be found here:

Read them. You will be expected to follow them.

    Missing critical suspension bolt

Hello, I've "removed" the bolt that holds the inner side of the rear front lower control arm. The one with a cammed head.
I special ordered the bolt, but it won't be here till friday.
Will the suspension be forgiving enough to let me put it back together (minus that bolt) and back it out of the garage? Maybe 30 feet total?

    PS, it's number 31

Shouldn't be a problem if you're only moving it. The cam portion of the bolt is mainly for the sake of adjusting toe.

put some thick enough bolt and nut it hold it in for now since you only moving it.

I would get proper bolt asap. I won't drive with out the proper bolt.

The bolt is on order from the local dealership. It won't get here till friday though.
I'm afraid using a different bolt could damage the bushing though.
Do I need something in there to move it?

that bolt is to precisely align the rear tires, so it is good you have one ordered. though as long as SOME sort of bolt is in there, the car will move fine, at least for getting around the driveway. just dont go too much of a distance, or you will risk chewing up that tire, or risk letting the threads of the bolt grind into the inside of the bushing (you may as well grease it). you will be getting a full alignment when its all back together, right?

I ended up just pushing the control arm into place and putting it back together. I drive to where I needed to be without any problems.
It's kind of funny, if I muscle it, it's almost like I have 4ws!

And yes, I will. But I hadn't planned it because of this.
I planned it because A) Tie rods when I'm all done and B) I knew the bushings would set off my alignment, even if I put everything back together perfectly.
