Main Relay issue

Me and my buddy are working on our H22 project and were to the point of just it needing to start to work.

The issue is not getting fuel, we removed the main relay and jumped the wires with a paper clip and turned the ignition and we got fuel, but we have tried new and used main relays and it does not prime the fuel.

What could be the problem?

Thanks.

No relay coil signal?
Something isn't turning the relay on. Does it click when you turn the car on?

I don't remember, I don't recall hearing the click when the ignition is on...

Oh. Did you check the relay with a DMM?

I have not. I don't have one of those, I will go get one this weekend and check.

How would I do it if you don't mind educating me? If not I'll Google tonight after work.

Ok when you are probing the main relay harness, you want to see if there is voltage on:

Key on, ignition off:
Pin 3 should have continuity to ground
Pin 3 and pin 6 should have 12v
Pin 3 and pin 1 should have 12v

Pin 4 should have 12v as it goes to the fuel pump.

I'll leave this here for reference for yourself and others:
