ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

The rules for the overall forum can be found here:

Read them. You will be expected to follow them.

F23A1 IACV on Euro R intake manifold

Will a 3-wire IACV from a F23 bolt up to this weird european type R intake manifold?

Yes they will bolt up. However, if you don't have an OBD2 ECU to run the 3 wire IAC, it's not worth it. You would be better off buying/making a 3 wire to 2 wire IAC adapter plate.

There easy enough to make, even easier to buy I guess. Blacktrax 3 wire IAC Adapter

I have a 3-wire PWM controlled IACV that Joseph Davis suggested I ghetto rig so that it can run off of the map that David sent me to burn on this chip. It runs on 2-wire OBD1 signaling.

OK. as long as you have an aftermarket PWM controller for the 3 wire IAC. I have yet to see anyone go through the steps off adding PWM control for an IAC.

Make sure to post up the gear that you are using. I would be interested in how this is done. I always just opt for converting to a 2 wire IAC when running a 2 wire OBD1-2 ECU's. It's easy enough to add the wires if you do a complete OBD2 F23 engine and ECU upgrade.

To your observation, Ghost-and I know you're aware of this-the reason you never see it is because converting to a 2-wire is simply the cost of an IACV and adapter plate away.

There is seemingly no advantage to using the 3-wire, so it's just not needed.
My Members' Ride Thread - It's a marathon build, not a sprint. But keep me honest on the update frequency!

There's no feasible way to hand make an adapter plate for the h23a VTEC manifold. It would have to be a counter-sunk socket cap screw that sits flush on the plate so that the obd1 2-wire iacv will bolt up to it. Which, can be done but I didn't have the fancy drill bit that will cut without a taper.

Additionally, the common Euro R IACV adapter plate is reversed from the h23. It won't work.

Furthermore, all of that is unnecessary. Just repin it.

Your idle RPM seems a bit low for an engine running with an active IAC valve. What did you have your idle set for in the ROM/Tune, is it 500-650 idle?

What happens to your idle if you were to unplug the IAC while it is running?
