ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

The rules for the overall forum can be found here:

Read them. You will be expected to follow them.

J25A pistons compression height for F23 block with F20B crank??

J25A has a crazy short stroke of 71.6mm (which implies high domed pistons) the bore is 86mm

    Has anyone measured these pistons?

I wonder if it would work okay with this setup

    F23A1 block - 86mm bore, 55mm mains
    F20B crank - (98+ with 55mm mains)
    F20B rods -

    heres part #s

    13010-PGE-A01 PISTON SET (STANDARD)
    13010-P8D-J00
    13010-P8E-A00

    13030-PGE-A01 PISTON SET (OS 0.25)
    13030-P8D-J00
    13030-P8E-A00

    13040-P8D-J00 PISTON SET (OS 0.50)
    13040-P8E-A00

You are grossly overestimating the availability and affordability of these parts....

And underestimating the value of displacement.....

The F20B crank, pistons and rods are over $4,000 alone, not counting shipping from abroad. Not to mention while the F20/22A heads flow well, but for a street car you can't beat DOHC VTEC on the F/H platform.

Likewise on a street car you can't beat torque. A 9000 RPM F20A is going to be a dog anywhere below 5K, which unless you are a complete lunatic is where you will spend 90% of your time in a street car.

For probably less than 1/2 the $$$ you can put together a 95mm H22 with Type-S cams that will put down way more power and torque and be better on the street. Put the rest of that money into an LSD.

Don't build something weird to impress people on the internet... nobody is going to be. Save your $$$.... either get an F20B, or build a big displacement F/H
