I just installed the 1st gen struts today the way crazymikey did them, and they cause the hood to bow out and the top mount bracket actually bends on both struts. They seem like they're ready for the trash now. I just don't get how he made them work.

If you guys think I can still get away with using them, let me know. Maybe I drilled too high up on the hood bracket, or need to screw in the other hole in the bottom mounting bracket.

Since I'm a sucker and went out to get the 2nd Gen struts today, yes, three:

            1. What size hole did you drill for the bolts on the hood hinge?
            2. Did you tap a thread for those bolts?
            3. Do you have any issues with the hood sitting flush when closed?

Ok cool, that's what I did too for the second gen struts I just bought.

The ones I got were different from each other. One looked like the ones you have (bracket had to be put together), and the other one looked like the ones crazymikey had on his white coupe. I took one back and Oriley's ordered another one from the warehouse. I just want a matching set.

Thanks for posting the install pics and answering my questions.
