EXT: stock rear wing from accord

Not sure how many people will need this but if you want to install a rear wing from another year accord, there is a little process involved. I found an LED one from an 07 accord and decided to make a DIY.

    Tool needed.
    Air Grinder or Dremel
    Drill with bit
    Grinding stone or sandpaper
    masking tape
    silicone
    electrical tape test light

first i mocked up the wing to the car so i could make sure that it was centered and get the holes drilled in the right place

Then i traced out my hole patterns on both sides

After i traced out my bolt patterns i had to cut under them to allow access for the nuts to be put on. I marked the areas with a marker. Be sure to watch the wires on the driver side.

I used my air grinder to cut both sides out. A dremel will work also. I avoided the wires by moving them as i cut

After i cut out both sides i cleaned the metal with a grind stone. Once again a dremel will work also

When both sides were done, i went back tot he top to drill the holes. I used a 1/4 inch drill bit and i taped off the area so i would not scratch the paint. Use cation when drilling on the drivers side, watch the wires

After i cut all 4 holes, i test fitted the wing to ensure fitment

With this wing, i had to cut a separate hole for the wires so i did that after the other holes and i sealed the hole with silicone and a rubber grommet so there would be no leaks.

Once you get everything test fitted, attach the 4 nuts to the wing. I used silicone and an anti-rust spray on all 4 holes to ensure no leaking and no-rust

Once you are done tightening everything up, splice the wire into your brake lights and you are off and running.

Hope this helps anyone wanting to try this. It took me about an hour with air so i would guess about an hour and a half with a dremel.

nice job I would not have made such a large cut on the underside of the lid. I would suggest that you drill all the way through and then on the underside use a hole saw and make the holes larger so that you have a more factory appearance. Just my 2 cents on that. your install looks great man
