My motor may have met its end...

I think i just blew my motor. Compression is probably still good cause it cranks and sounds normal besides having rod knock from hell. I'm gonna go play guitar hero and sulk for awhile before i try to start tearing things apart.

It was probably oil starvation. Hadn't been over-revving it but the valve stem seals went out again and i was having to replace 4 quarts of oil about every 3 weeks. I replaced it again yesterday after hearing a little knocking but it may have been too late. Car was acting really funny today spitting and sputtering and on the way home from work the loud knocking sound started, i shifted to a higher gear and right when i pressed in the clutch pedal the engine shut off, released the clutch and it came right back on. Oil light started flickering, car started bucking...and then the knocking sound got LOUD AS HELL. Could be the end of that crank.

          oy. yard block swap?

sucks u cant drop pistons from the bottom. but sounds like you may have bigger issues than just a bent rod hah

always happens at the worst times, eh?

Why the hell not??? Drop the oil pan, take off the crank pulley+head+whatever that thing is between the oil pan/crank, remove rod bolts...push pistons out of top? Or would you have to get the block honed?

And I don't like this. I wanna go turbo and you guys haven't been making a case for turbo F22 reliability over the past few weeks...

you broke yours without turbo....shit happens. it doesnt mean its the turbos fault.

And if you push pistons out through the top, thats not taking them out from the bottom.

Did you have an oil pressure gauge. I keep one so I can monitor my pressure. This way i can catch oil starvation before it becomes a bitch/blown motor/money-out-the-bank.

on an accord? because they dont fit through the bottom.

Man, that sucks Antoine! It had a good run though, considering that it's been boosted and otherwise stock for so long!
