Does crankshaft pulley reduce vibrations much? Are aftermarket ones better?

I have been reading about different pulley systems and wondering how much ours limits crankshaft vibrations. Some have balancers in them and thick rubber. I am assuming ours have thick rubber but nothing else. Why do they call it harmonic balancer when it is really a crank pulley it seems?

Is the newer aftermarket pulleys better than the oem one? I know rare case right but have read that the materials in these things have gotten much better.

The OEM limits it within the original design parameters of the engine which is data only the Honda engineers and third-party testers have.

It's a harmonic damper because it cancels out crank harmonics. Harmonics are very small twisting forces applied across the crankshaft. Excess harmonics cause all sorts of issues with the most severe being a broken crank or block.

I'm pretty sure a modern pulley is the same or slightly better than the OEM. It won't matter much on a street driven engine anyway.
