i've been lurking on this forum for a long time. i've done several builds on b series and mitsu 4g cars. galants, eclipse, really i'll turbo just about any 4 cylinder. usually i stick to low compression aftermarket cast pistons (8.5) and stock rods as i know how to tune so i don't mind cast pistons (with thicker ring landings) and boost stays low (15psi and below). i've recently bought an f22a6 engine that was supposed to already have been fully built. the only thing it really had was a balance shaft elimination kit and custom je pistons, 86mm bore high(er) compression. i don't want to break the rods loose to take measurements to see what compression they really are. since they are custom, je can't help me as there's no etching. these are on pt3 rods. they look to be somewhere in between 10.6-11.6 any opinions? my last 12.5 pistons had a lot higher dome, so they can't be too high compression.
thats my side question. my reason for posting is to ask what intake manifold are people running on their turbo f22. my last high compression f22 build was the h23 upper on an f22 lower with iabs functioning. i don't trust iabs with forced induction, nor do i think they'll help. i always went aftermarket on gsr intakes to be rid of iabs but the only one i can find for the f22a is a disgusting looking obx intake on ebay. are turbo guys running deleted butterflys, gutted iab plates, or running them functioning?
pictures are posted for maybe someone helping me identify cr of those pistons and to show i'm not wasting anyones time- that is the turbo being used on the ground (ignore the BEGi fmu, it was used on a project a while back, i use crome to tune). the last one is my other personal teg. 300hp on stock internals (arp rod bolts).
