ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

The rules for the overall forum can be found here:

Read them. You will be expected to follow them.

Some Anomalies During Prep For Engine Removal

Hi again. I was underneath my engine while trying to remove the exhaust bolts, when I noticed this cable running from my transmission to what must be the shift stick:

Now from the obvious looks of it, I must remove this cable if I want to remove the transmission with the engine. Problem is, the honda manual doesn't tell you how to remove it and it doesn't even list it as one of the parts to remove.

How am I supposed to remove this cable?

I tried to pry the thing out but it didn't move much, leading me to stop and reconsider what I was doing.

If it is your shifter cables, they can be disconnected at the transmission. If it's not your shifter cables, then I'm at a loss.

I just pulled my engine out yesterday with the transmission attached and the only cables that I had to remove were the shifter cables, and I disconnected them at the transmission end...

OP has an automatic. You'll need to remove that tin cover and then release the cable inside. It's pretty self-explanatory.

to remove it you need to remove the three 12mm bolts then take the 10 mm bolt off and slide it towards the oil pan theres also a weird washer with a tab you need to bend it back before unbolting the 10mm

Thank you very much. This is my first time doing anything this serious with the car and I am very exited, however there have been moments where I lose confidence in myself, that's when I look into the official shop manual - which is the Bible of the car (as ETCG said). Then I am not so fearful that I will mess it up.
