I tossed around the idea of looking for some kind of 4X4 or AWD for this winter. I really don't want to put the CB through another one, and the civic won't do well in the snow I already anticipate that.

Legacy L, impreza coupe? The Ej18's are decent, 2.5's complete junk imo.
An old school hardbody Nissan?----if I can find one with a frame.
Another jeep? I liked the XJ but idk. Got bored plus the one I had was a toilet.
Yet another Ranger? I can't afford one as new this time I'd have to get mid 90's.
S-dime? Yuck to the 4X2 2.2L, but yes to the vortec as long as it's been maintained.

If you decide to get an impreza, I still have parts from my GF8. I had 98 impreza wagon awd. A beast. I destryoed the diffs when I put on the track.
