    surging idle

    Hey guys,
I'm having a idle problem and im sure most of you have had it. My idle surges from 1000-2000 RPM. I have replaced my idle air control valve, FITV and I even put a blocking plate on my Air booster valve. I have bleed my coolant just incase. But im still having a issue. Any ideas on what it could be?

Did you replace the FITV with a new or used one? To test if it is the FITV, remove it and put a piece of electrical tape over the ports, then reinstall it. If this fixes the problem, remove the valve, remove the tape, then replace the o-ring on the yellow piston in the FITV and adjust it.

If that's not it, you likely have a vacuum leak somewhere.

I replaced it with a new one. I also sprayed my intake manifold with throttle body cleaner and i didnt hear changes in the idle.

Has anything been done to the car recently? If not, I'd probably say one of your vacuum lines might be leaking. Keep in mind the brake booster and fuel regulator could be sources for leaks too.

If it isn't your fitv with clogged carbon it is then a vacuum leak somewhere.
