ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

    TCU error code 2

TCU code 2 on my 92 LX auto (malfunction on lock up solenoid circuit B) went off so I replaced the lock up solenoid. Car now shifts like it should, however the TCU is still flashing the same code even after disconnecting the battery to clear the memory. Any suggestions on where to look next? Going to keep an eye on my gas mileage after replacing it, was averaging 18 city on the old solenoid (yikes!). Searched for other posts about something like this but couldn't find any. Thx!

So long story short pull the ECU backup fuse for 15 minutes or so then plug it back in?

Ok after a short period of time after changing both solenoids, it seemed like the car was ok. That is no longer the case. Vehicle has returned to its previous shifting problems. Assuming the TCU is the issue (I don't get it the previous owner put a new one in 10k miles ago!!!) I thought I had seen a way to permanently upgrade the TCU so that said suspect electronics components wouldn't fry anymore. I can't find that post though anywhere...anyone know where its at? might not be on this site btw...

I'm not sure if I've ever read anything in regards to "up-grading" the TCU.

Then again, I drive a 5 spd and I don't concern myself too much with TCU issues.
However, with that being said .. perhaps type in the search field .. TCU ..
but instead of having it *search entire posts* have it *search titles only* ..
I always seem to have the best luck with that myself ..

The *advanced* search function also seems to bring up better results as well.

Pulling the battery connection should reset the compuers just as well as pulling the fuse.

ya i've seen a DIY for replacing the capacitors and resistors that burn out on the TCU, costs about ten bucks to do and its supposed to make it to where it doesn't burn out again...if anyone knows the link to this DIY please help I can't find it anywhere.

Update: Decided to purchase a remanufactured TCU and put it in the honda. Car has same issues, but now throws a code 1 instead of code 2 on the old TCU. I am now thoroughly flabbergasted. I'm gonna recheck both solenoid electrical connections for function and resistance as per a DIY diagnostic I found online http://techauto.awardspace.com/trans...nsmission.htmlhttp://techauto.awardspace.com/transmission.html. Assuming both solenoids function properly, would the modulator valve be a possibility given that i've had a 1 and 2 code on two different TCU's?

Hooked both solenoid connectors up to the positive on the battery, both solenoids function perfectly.Went back and checked the codes now its reading 1, 2, and 8. All are solenoid problem codes but they seem to function perfectly. I'm completely confused now. Anyone have any other ideas?
