D4 light off until I wiggle the gear lever sometimes (Auto)
Now this isn't really much of an issue, for me anyways, but it's something I wanted to find out more about incase it becomes a real problem someday.
So when I shift my CB7 into D4, sometimes it doesn't fully click into gear, and none of the gear selector lights are on and I have to nudge the gear lever towards D4 until the D4 light comes on. On a few occasions my dad has driven off with the D4 light off because it hadn't clicked into gear, and he described it as "slipping in and out of drive every few seconds" with the D4 light being off the whole time. I can't imagine that's good for it, Once it's nudged into gear it runs fine. Its been doing this since I got the car. But now that the rust is pretty much taken care of, I can start worrying about the little niggling problems. So is there any way I can adjust the lever so it clicks into gear easier? any electrical contacts that might need cleaning?
