    Horn issue, 98 Accord...

So long story short, i had to get new horns for the car because the old ones has the connectors broke off the backs of them. Installed the new horns and they worked great.

Only thing that changed in between when they worked and stopped working was we had the SRS cover over the lower steering column off to try and get my steering wheel aligned (Put a new subframe in before the horn). And since then the horn has stopped working.

Before I put the new horns in you could hear the relay clicking when you push on the steering wheel, but now I cant hear anything.

So could there be something near the steering column we could have bumped that would cause the horn to not work? I also checked the relay and its fine.

    Any suggestions would be great!

Just noticed I put this in the wrong section, lol. If a mod could move it that would be great!

Make sure all the srs connections are good. There's the yellow one and also a grey 3 pin connector that might have been overlooked.

ONLY mess with the SRS when the car has all power removed and drained.

I've read that the 6th gen accords have a common horn issue. That issue is that the horn relay is wired up so power comes in to relay, through the coil and up to the horn button. When you press the horn button your activating the switch to ground the relay, this energizes the relay and puts power to your horns. At the horn switch in the steering wheel the power comes in and goes to one side of the horn switch. The second side of the switch is grounded to part of the bearings which supports the steering shaft which goes through the firewall.

Intermittent horn failure is due to the contact patches in the steering wheel assemble wearing out. (or so I've read)

I know the yellow is connected as I had it unplugged to reset the SRS. I'll have to check the other one to make sure its snug. Thanks

Why do you say that? The car has to be in the on position when you unhook the yellow SRS connection to reset it so you can see the lights on the dash flash. Unless you mean dealing with the airbags them selves, then thats understandable.

The Supplementary Restraint System is in control of the airbags and seat belt charges.

IF your car is powered on and you start messing with the yellow connectors (which is only for SRS equipment) you run the risk of deploying your air bags or belt charges which will seriously hurt.

Here is a link with a DIY. I probably would go through the repair manual for your car as well to confirm that they are the same before trying it.

Post #12 is actually one of the air bags deploying while the system was being serviced.

This contradicts what you said in your earlier post about unhooking and draining the power, lol. You cant see the SRS light flashing unless you have power.

But this was never about the SRS, it was about the horn. The only reason i mentioned the SRS was because there is a cover you have to remove to get at the steering column which had to be removed when I replaced the sub frame.
