ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

The rules for the overall forum can be found here:

Read them. You will be expected to follow them.

i say check your fan relay. and also check if the radiator jacket is leaking. what i did was after wiping around the top (while it was still cold). took it for a spin around the block but with a heavy foot lol. after that, pulled the bonnet and check around the the jacket to see if there is fresh coolant residue on it at the top. that means u need a new radiator. also check your head gasket for idle issue if its not the IACV. probably blown hopefully u didnt hit bearings. good luck

Water trying to make its way to the reservoir in my opinion is due to the overheating (not necessary a head gasket problem). A head gasket problem can lead to overheating but overheating is not necessarily a head gasket problem.
Thats why I said 99% sure of the problem being a headgasket because i have had to deal with that demon, and I slayed it too. Only after replacing almost every coolant hose, the radiator, thermostat, thermo switch, water pump, all that was left was the headgasket, replaced it and the overheating problem went away.

        1. Inspect for coolant leaks (around hoses, block, under the car, timing cover/water pump)
        2. Check Coolant Level
        3. Inspect/replace the radiator cap
        4. Check for proper thermostat operation
        5. Check for proper fan operation (that they work & sucking air through the radiator / blowing air onto the header/heatshield)

If everything checks out, and appears to be working properly, sorry buddy its most likely a headgasket. This is one of the many ways a headgasket can fail / or problems it can cause. Coolant in Oil, or Oil in coolant is another sign. Excessive moisture/vapor coming from the exhaust after the vehicle is sufficiently warmed up (10-20+ minutes depending upon ambient temperature)

As for where to get a headgasket set, I would personally see about aquiring a Stone/Ishino headgasket set. Ishino is the company Honda uses for its headgaskets, Ishino translated into english is Stone. Ishino = Stone. Stone = Inexpensive compared Ishino from Honda = Arm & Leg

            Ok ok ok.....
I figures everything out. My head gasket is fine. The previous owner didn't use antifreeze but just used water. It froze, hence the disappearing coolant and overheating. I melt all of it, via my gf's hairdryer(sshhhhhhh!) and drained it out. I replaced with antifreeze and let the air bubbles out. It runs perfect now. Oh and I tightened the valve down and it doesn't idle funny anymore.

Seriously, thank you for all your help. You have no idea how much I needed it.

            Take care!
