ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

The rules for the overall forum can be found here:

Read them. You will be expected to follow them.

    MAP Sensor F22B DOHC

So the mechanic put the engine in my car and did not wire the map sensor. I need to now how to wire it. The car is OBD-1 but the engine is OBD-2. I know I have to cut some wires and then reconnect them to the sensor.

Your car is already OBD1. You dont need that OBD2 map sensor.
Just use the one that comes with the car already... its inside the emissions box. or you can simply just get another one at the junk yard. then just make sure you're using a vacuum line in order for it work... obviously....

No. The car is OBD1 but the engine is OBD2. F22B DOHC did come as a OBD2 and the sensor that came with the engine and TB is OBD2

Great. He's saying that your car already has a MAP sensor inside the black box that's likely hooked up to a vacuum port on the intake manifold or throttle body.

Is your car running poorly or are you just asking because you see a sensor that's not connected?

I can see the sensor on top of the TB disconnected. Also my car is running poorly bc the car is not shifting correctly. The mechanic said it was due to a sensor so I think it is the one that would be not connected.

          BTW thanks for the help

stop calling this guy a mechanic if you paid him for the swap and he didn't complete it.

do you still have the black box with ~3 vacuum hoses coming out of it?
one of those are for your map sensor, find which one and just plug that into a vacuum source.

so there is a map sensor on top of the TB?
leave that one alone, screwed in but unhooked to wiring.
if you pull it, you will have to find a way to block it,
as it is just another vacuum point.

            does that make sense?
