Valve cover looks good. That front cross member is relatively easy to remove. I repainted and replaced the one on my wife's 93 LX a few years ago after she hit a tree with the right front and ruptured the battery.

So I've gotten my calipers back from the powdercoaters and I think the finish came out really well.

In the interim since my last update, I also got my exhaust shield mounted back up, and the driveshafts installed. It really is starting to look like it's coming together.

Bolts were installed right after this.

I've also got most of my parts together to refurbish the AC, but I need to rent one of those flush guns and get some solvent, rent a vacuum tank and find a good set of manifold guages to use.

I do need one part if anyone has a compressor they don't need. I stupidly threw out my old compressor before I snatched off the top plate with the pipe fittings. I had no idea the new one would be shipped with a blank friggin plate on top. Ugh.

Damn Brother, looking so good. I really like how the calipers turned out!
Auto-zone loan a tool has the vacuum pump, flush tank and a good manifold gauge set.
They require about $400 down for all of them but you get it back when you return them.
I currently have all them here at the house to put a new system in a work truck this weekend.
They also sell the flush for $20.
Good luck with the AC, hit me up if you need anything.

I've gotten a lot of work done in the past couple days:

Tranny fluid and oil have been topped up. Tie rods installed (anyone notice they were upside down?); radiator, p.s. pump, alternator, spark plugs/wires, and distributor all installed.

Speaking of the alternator - my God, who was the sadist that designed the tensioner for that? Maybe I just haven't figured out the trick to installing it, but I've done it three or four times now and it seems you have to do it just so. It just seems so unnecessary. I guess it wouldn't be so bad if they'd positioned that one A/C line a little differently. BUT NOOOOOOOOOOO....lol.

What's left? I still need to insulate and install the last of the two A/C lines on the trans side of the motor, put in the A/C's fan, fit the radiator hoses and fill it with coolant.

Then I'll bleed the brakes and clutch. After that the battery tray and the battery, then it's time to start her up!

I plan on getting this done by Wednesday hopefully, that way I'm ready to pull a vacuum on the system Thursday in prep to charge it up Friday.

Well I got the engine started today with minimal problems! I'm soooo happy that the idle's not bouncing like my '91's was/is. Upon my first attempt, I wasn't having any luck, but I noticed I wasn't hearing the hum from the fuel pump. Considering some wonky starting/dying behavior when I first got the car, I'm not surprised. Again, I'm very lucky I got it home back in November.

I think I need to bleed a bit more air out of the power steering, but other than that, she idles really nice. I made sure to warm it up, bleed the coolant, and make sure the fan came on ok. No problems there. Here's a link to the video on instagram. Sorry, I should've recorded it and uploaded to youtube or something.

I still need to clean the upholstery, bleed the brakes, and mount the wheels. Oh and charge the A/C system. That's it! Wait who am I kidding? There will always be more.

You set all the valve clearances? It just seems like more valve clatter than I remember in most of mine; does it quiet down when warmed up?

Keep the old main relay; remove the cover and resolder any cracked solder joints, then keep it as a spare.

To bleed the power steering, simply turn the wheel from lock to lock a few times, the system should purge itself. Make sure to check and top off the reservoir after doing this.

Yes sir, I set all the valve clearances. It's just the video, making it seem more clattery than it really is. I thought I had gotten rid of the air with some spins of the wheel, but I guess not! I will be doing more wheel-turning today, that's for sure.

Just a little update. I've roughed in the toe where it needs to be, but I still haven't torqued down my ball joints because I've got a change of suspenders in the works.

I picked up a set of shocks and springs from u/dreamability. Dreamability has decided to leave us plebian Accords in the dust on the autox course once his Koni Yellows are mounted, so these needed a new home.

They're Koni Reds and like my car, they are old but in much better shape. I gather they were sold new to him in '18 and weren't on the car very long. They came paired with some Vokland (sp) springs and should give a tidy drop, judging by his car's stance before he took them off.

I picked up a spring compressor today, so I'll be working on getting them installed soon. I would've already started on them, but on a 3rd warmup my j'92 decided to start spewing coolant out of one of the few hoses I didn't change - a heater hose. So I had to derail, order one hose, buy the other at Autozone. A pain to get to for sure, but I got them off the firewall from up top, surprisingly.

                    * BE CAREFUL NOT TO SQUEEZE TOO TIGHT ON THE HEATER CORE'S FIREWALL FITTINGS!* I managed to squeeze mine a bit too tight and make it a little oval, or maybe it was already like that, I dunno. I reshaped it a little bit, hoping it holds. The new hose I got from Autozone is already on, now I'm just waiting on the hose I ordered to get here.

Did you get the purchase receipt I emailed?
New for sure, while sitting on a warehouse shelf in New York for around 10 years before I bought em, lol.
Even now they only have about 2-3000 miles on em.
Definitely a great set up for an OEM upgrade and modest drop.
I think you'll be happiest setting them at 1/4 turn towards stiff or full soft.
Also dont forget to put the rear shocks cir-clip back up to the top setting and leave the front on the lowest.
Glad they found a good home.
I'm looking forward to getting to take the cars out together this summer; you, me and Allen.
Now I wont be the only CB at the meets!!! lol

Yeah I made that mistake with the heater core connections on my 92 back in 2012. Just really soft copper.
They held good after reshaping them and connecting the hoses so you should be good.

                        Update:
So I've gotten the konis and the Vogland springs installed and I love the stance. These were taken last week, so I think it may have settled a bit more. A tad high maybe, but that's ok, more room for suspension compliance is fine by me.

Here's the fogs I installed. It's just the fogs for now, as I've yet to locate the harness. Once I find one I'll pull the bumper again to install it, as I think I need to adjust the driver's side bumper bracket anyway.

You can't see it in the pics, but I also installed poly UCA bushes and Moog adjustable balljoints (part K90490). These are adjustable for camber and caster, +/- one degree. After my difficulties getting my '91 aligned correctly, I wanted to make sure I could really get it dialed in, and it's damn near in the middle of the range for OE settings. I could've gone a little more aggressive because racecar, but I won't be tracking this car, so OE is fine.

Just my initial impressions of the Konis: they ride great. Dreamability was dead on with his info about them riding similar to stock, just with a lower ride height and not as bouncy. One thing I'm thankful for is they really highlight how worn out my trailing arm bushings are. My front end is nice and tight and takes a set much more surely, but in the rear I can feel a bit of jitter that judging by the sound it's not in the strut or the upper control arm. The upper arms have been replaced with some cheaper adjustable ones as well. Ebay items, yes. Did they get my toe/camber in the rear spot-on? Yes.

Shame they're not making the Koni Reds anymore.

I think the best upgrade I ever did was use the Prothane master kit to replace all the worn rubber bushings in my car. Felt a bit more solid than the stock rubber bushings and you can use the upper control arm bushings from Prothane to replace the rear lower shock bushings in the rear spindles. You would need a hole saw and you can just re-use the steel sleeve on the outer part of the stock bushing.

I just used this as a guide for my suspension build.

I haven't filled the rear trailing arm bushings but at some point I plan on doing what he did with his.

I can't make any conclusions about just the bushings since I only did the radius rods and the upper control arms. All I know is my front end feels great. I need to get back under the car and take a close look at the other control arms. They're probably toast too.

Henroc, what did you do about the trailing arm bushings? The only direct replacement I see is the Hardrace rubber ones. Or I've seen '94-'97 Accord bushes mentioned, which is fine, but those aren't available either. There's also the question of the little ones that anchor the knuckle. I don't think those are in the Prothane or Energy Susp. kits I've seen.
