ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!
Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956
Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)
Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.
These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.
1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.
2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.
3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.
4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.
The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.
The rules for the overall forum can be found here:

I always take mine to a place to have my oil changed for this reason, not saying its your fault, but if a auto place did it to you, they get to replace it. It just happened to me, took it back cause it was leaking. they rushed a new nut, and gave me a new oil change now questions asked. didnt cost me a dime but 40 mins lol

I'm not sure about you guys but the Pick and pull here in Cincy, when a new car comes in, instead of removing the bolt to drain the oil they just punch a hole into it and then plug it with rubber cork. So used oil pans are no good here.

a mechanic referred me to a piggy back where there is a over sized screw to re thread and another nut one the back of it to drain it out so you dont have to mess with the new thread bolted in. but i drove my car 50 miles today with the universal drain plug and it was straight no leaks no nothing. But i still want to get it fixed.

dropping your oil pan is a pain in the ass. Just take it to a shop and have them weld a nut on the outside of the drain hole to replace the stripped threads, a regular 12mm internal diameter nut. Then drain and refill the oil.
Then just use a normal 12mm diameter bolt (probably a 15mm wrench size) to plug it, and use a copper washer or fiber washer each time. It will never, ever, strip again.
Even if you pull the pan to have this done, you've saved $100 for the pan (less the welding fee of maybe $30, I'm guessing).Last edited by batever; 06-02-2011, 12:59 PM.
