ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

The rules for the overall forum can be found here:
http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/forumdisplay.php?f=144
Read them. You will be expected to follow them.

Ok, now you must find the open wire and repair it or run a whole new wire.

The quick fix is to take a wire and wrap it around the fuse leg and the relay leg and call it a day...or at least see if that temporarily fixes the issue. Coming from a person who just installed a new main harness...you do NOT want to go through that process.

First check for continuity from fuse 5 to that socket that my probe is in...just to double check and verify that the wire is actually open.

Okay im going to take your advice on that for sure. You said to try to wrap a wire from one leg to the other. Are you saying jump the pins? On the relay that isnt getting 12 volts? If so what would be my safest way of doing that?

Wrap a wire around the leg of fuse 5 that is supposed to go to the underhood fuse box. DO NOT wrap it around the supply side.
Run the wire to the underhood fuse box
Wrap the other side of the wire on the leg of the relay that is supposed to receive that 12v.
        Insert relay
        Insert fuse
        Test windows.

20 gauge wire should work perfectly.

Okay thank you very much Im going to get some wire and test that. Ill report back after i wire it all up. |Side note here| I spaced what you said first. Do not wrap the wire to the supply side of the #5 fuse. At this point im confused on what the supply side is. I know on that fuse i have 12 volts on the bottom pin and nothing on the top pin.

Easiest way to find it is to remove the fuse, and see which side has 12v. You want the opposite side.

This Issue has been diagnosed And solved. Windows were not working due to a bad wire in the harness running from the dash fuse box to the engine bay fuse box. Temporary fix for now by running a wire from the top pin on the number 5 fuse through the firewall and into the top left pin socket to the window relay.

Diagnosed and solved "Credited to SonikAccord" Many thanks
