    2001 Prelude ABS 1 3 code

    Good Morning,

I want to pull my hair out over this code, I just replaced the rear calipers, did rotors and pads before winter hit here. After I did that, I now have this wonderful ABS code of 1 3 (high pressure leakage). I’ve tried to reset the code, I’ve tried re-bleeding all the brakes, and making sure the motor is plugged in and even checked for leaks. I cannot find any where that someone has had a problem on there BB6 with this issue. I can find the fix for a 94-97 accord but the ABS motor is different. Can anyone shed some light, I don’t want to dig into it if possibly breaking crap on the ABS motor?

I had a similar code for my CB some years ago, but it was called ABS pump motor overrun or similar. System was losing the high pressure, hence making the pump motor run too long. Problem was the solenoids in the modulator was leaking internally. I changed out the solenoids solving the problem. Not sure if Prelude modulators can be opened, if not the whole modulator unit must be replaced.

If your pump is running longer than usual and you're topped up on fluid and air bled out (ABS
system has a separate reservoir from the brake fluid) finding no leaks it could very well be the same issue.

Thanks Lindiz, I just sold the prelude but I’ll forward this to the owner now and maybe he could fix it. The pump wouldn’t run for me, but you gave me the answer I was looking for. I thought possibly the pump was leaking internally but never have opened a ABS unit, or had ABS before.
