ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

The rules for the overall forum can be found here:

Read them. You will be expected to follow them.

    Need a short intake manifold

I'm putting an F23 in a crx. I need to find a shorter intake manifold to clear the firewall. I have considered going custom made, but I'm hoping to find a cheaper option, like blox or some other oem intake that will bolt on or I can mod a little to fit. Ideas?

Are you doing F2B/D or full F swap?

It's an f23 with H22 tranny. Originally I was going to do F2B, but the kits are pricey. I do a ton of tuning so I started tuning in trade for F/H parts. Nobody around here does H2B or anything so tuning in trade for one of those kits was impossible.

I'm also making my own mounts. Nothing against the off the shelf mounts, but $350 to buy them or $50 to make them is a no brainer for me. I have done tons of mounts, so I'm not concerned with strength. I have a set in my 10second EF hatch. I can't make them till I know what intake I'm using though since intake length will affect axle angle.

The goal is fun N/A street car that will get some drag strip testing. I have built and tuned tons of fast turbo cars and know how to make power that way. It's time to learn the black art of N/A.

You're very limited on that head with intake manifold options. The only OEM intakes that will fit it are the F23A intake that's already on it or the SOHC F22B manifolds. The F23A manifold is the better or the two.

You might want to consider swapping the head to an F22A head and eliminating VTEC. The port design opens up many options for intake manifolds for you.

I agree that the F23 out of the box is the better IM for a stock engine. However, I think the F22B1/2 is a shorter length from the head to firewall. I could be wrong though!.... Also the F22B1/2 can be ported and it will take a throttle body up to 64mm bored out to it's max. It is probably the shortest option that you are going to get aside from a custom setup.

I have plans of going non vtec down the road. I got this f23 for free out of an 01 accord. Figured I would put it in, get the bugs worked out and drive it as is for a while. I'm planning k20 pistons and such down the road. I'll go non vtec then. If I had an AC tig I would just make one myself, but my tig is DC only.

Is there a skunk2, blox, etc available for this engine?

I'm also considering the idea of cutting a hole in the firewall and welding a concaved plate in.
