I can't provide one because I do not want to get in trouble online. But you can search forums that host downloadable content. There are many patches and keymakers that make your windows genuine. You just have to know where to look.

I played with the developer's trial back when they first announced it; i didn't like it either. The only good thing about Win8 was that it allowed me to upgrade my WinXP laptop to Win7 without having to have installed Vista.

Was it my key that got you going or did that not work?

The task manager in Windows 8 shits on every previous generation it's almost enough reason to me to purchase 8. Almost.

You could have also used RemoveWAT 2.2 to remove the authentication process all together.

How well does that work? I have 2 versions of Windows 7 I'm looking at using.
I have them both in a VM, and both seem to work well.

One simply says it's activated. The other used removeWAT.

                        Which would you use?

Always use the activated one, especially if it's "genuine". removeWAT works just fine, but you have to watch the Windows udates to make sure you don't install an update that detects the hack. Only use the removeWAT tool if you don't have a good serial key, and don't want to use a keygen.

And you are no longer a "genuine" Windows user, which basically just means you can't download anything from Windows.com.

Easier to just get a windows 7 cd key, call up microsoft and activate it through some hoops

I'll start out with the one that appears to have a serial built in.

                              Interesting point about remove wat:
The version I used worked fine until I tried to install MSE. It detected it and wouldn't let me continue.
I did a bunch of updates and tried again. Bam. It worked.
