ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

The rules for the overall forum can be found here:

Yeah if it doesnt have the IAB solenoid with it I will just go get one cause then there would be no point in the pt6 ecu really. Yeah I think they said it was through the vacume line. Lol This is going to be a lot more trouble than I thought but It will be worth it. I get more power plus a better engine and I wont burn oil or smoke anymore.

If your current engine is burning oil and smoking, etc. Then you will definitely notice a difference in performance with a healthier engine, not to mention a better engine.

Make sure you get a new waterpump, timingbelt and idle tensioner atleast on that engine before swapping it in.

Yes, before you even think about putting it in, I'd recommend replacing all external engine seals, plugs, wires, and doing a full timing belt/water pump procedure.

Ok I got the ecu with the motor but here is r the number off of it... 37820-pt3-a55 can anyone tell me for sure if it came from an ex or lx 92-93? I looked around and everything I found said it was from an lx which means I wont have the slightly bigger came or the IABs dont it?

hi the #37820-pt3-a55 should be 37820-pt6-a55 i got a ecu of a 90 ex it was a pt3 ...the cam on the f22a6 is better ..im` putting the a6 intake on my a1

the a6 intake has 8 holes instead of 4
this is what im` putting on mine

also read this http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=88154 it sounds like you have a f22a1 or a f22a4 both are good

The pt3 ecu is from the lx and ex. What is stamped on the engine block? f22A1 or F22a4?

                    You need a PT6 to run a F22A6.

PT3 is no good for that engine. To my knowledge it will not operate the IABs, nor does it have the aggressive tune to compensate for the A6 camshaft. So no, you need a PT6.

It says f22a6 on the block I think I will have to check tomorrow to make sure. But yet like I said the ecu says pt3 that came with it.

IDK I need to check to see if it has the IAB system on the intake tomorrow too. If not then Im not going to worry about it and just us my ecu. If it does I gues Im going down to find a pt6 ecu sometime then.

Yeah I took everything apart today on the motor and the intake is just like mine on the f22a1. But yet the block says f22a6 on this new motor. also the pistons where labeled pt3 on the top of them. This is so confusing... I thought the f22a6 pistons should say pt6 on them and the intake should have the 8 holes. It seems like the intake has been changed, but how does that explain the pt3 makes on the pistons. IDK can someone please explain to me whats going on?

from what i`v read the a6 has tighter valve springs and a different cam, but the same block and head, and the a6 ecu works with the cam and does the iab`s plate too and no speed limiter on it ,the cam is got a different # on it ,wish i knew the # of the a6 and the a1-a4 ,sorry ,but i saw it listed once on here ,also the a6 has a oil cooler w/water where the oil filter goes on
