I had aluminum tape on one of my cars for 5 years with no problems, lots of guys use it for the same as well and never complain; maybe after a few years you have to add more or replace it.

Thanks for everyone's inputs and advices . Here are some night time pics that I just took.
Btw, can you guys take a look at how I aimed the lights. I have the passenger side lights aimed sleightly higher so that I can see signs and pedestrians better, and the drivers side lower so that I won't blind oncoming traffic. From the look of it, do they seem to be aimed correctly? I.E. too low, too high, cutoff is even, etc?

Projectors have a cutoff shield (metal in the middle of the projector) which makes the light cutoff lower on the left to avoid blinding oncoming drivers and higher on the right to see further and light up signs, like this: ______/--------- and both light cutoffs have to perfectly overlap each other and look like one at over 25 feet like this: _____/-------_____/--------
To properly aim your projectors park your car on a flat surface at 25 feet against a white wall, measure the height from the floor to the middle of your left/driver projector lens, take 2 or 2.5 inches off that measurement and mark the wall right in front of the projector, that's where the step should be, then you just raise or lower your right side so the lower cutoff matches the left one and the higher will match as well; then measure the distance from the middle of one projector to the other one and that is the distance where the steps should be, so if they are 4 feet apart that's where they have to be on the wall as well.
You have the right cutoff higher than the left one and your steps are too far apart, maybe 2 extra feet.
