Gotta go with an old-fashioned AWD system (while keeping that H22 up front ). If I ever have the means, my wagon would receive that. While I have grown to like FWD and how it's taught me the value of weight transfer in cornering, you can never have enough grip! Especially since I'd drive it year-round. Drivetrain layout also decides power level in my opinion, so while I would keep a FWD under about 300hp, AWD would allow me to kick it up to around 450 or so without it seeming like too much for my taste.

As far as the 'Active Select' stuff is concerned... I'm not big on tech features. It's part of what turns me off from modern cars. Keep it simple.

FWD is nice and simple, but we all know that is a compromise between packaging, costs, ease of assembly, etc. Not really the "best" for performance.

RWD, classic...really hard to go wrong here for all-around performance.

AWD, most performance cars are coming with this, standard, because of the sheer amount of power that the engines are producing. And to be the ultimate, we are going to need some power.

It would have to be front-engined for sure. Anything else would ruin practicality of the wagon chassis.

So, front engine, AWD. I have to look up some "Active Select" systems. I wonder what the benefits are and if anything can be implemented (i.e true torque vectoring)

An active select system would allow you to choose between all three layouts. You could have the car only operate on FWD, RWD, or AWD. You could choose on the whim based on what you want at any given moment.

Mods, can you extend this poll until the March 31st?

Most likely, if people vote up AWD, we'll do an active system because it allows for more choices. Why have 1 option when you can have 3?
