ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

The rules for the overall forum can be found here:

its a 50/50 chance with canada

most Canadian companies don't offer warranty/ insurance on their motors. no guarantee or even an " as is " label before purchasing.

so with them, its all mixed reviews.

usually if your motor is blown or has defective parts (blown), your SOL

they wont help you, but who knows. a call never hurts.

from what i heard, people go to tigerjapanese.com for cheaper motors ( in canada )

but for a few $$$ hundred more, you get the assurance that what your buying at http://www.hmotorsonline.com/ is perfectly fine and test to work smoothly. ( America )

International lawsuit's are expensive and most the time (if you are going to sue for say.......a FUCKED motor?) are going to run you A LOT more than what you paid for the motor you bought.

Not saying you will get screwed, but I would just be a little cautious and DO SOME RESEARCH as to what recourse you have IF you get screwed by whomever/whatever company you buy from if you are buying from a company from another country.

          3 CB's gone....
          1 WK Overland....

Still miss the CB though......maybe one day.

Where the fuck did you hear that Canadian companies dont offer warranties....Since its a canadian it must mean were shady business people eh?

Out of the three companies mentioned on this page.....Tiger Gives 30 days.....jspec gives 60 days.....and the beloved hmotors gives only a guaranteed start up and only if the engine is installed within 30 days of purchase.

Im not saying any is better than the other.....but before you start saying shit you should probably get the facts straight.

To the OP is better to buy from within your country.....it just makes life about a million times easier if things do go wrong.

I said "most". And I did mention tigerjapanese if you were to buy from them.

Sorry if I offended you, sir.

I don't know about the other two, but tigerjapanese states in their clauses that an ASE certified mechanic has to install the motor or you void the waranty.

Now, i've had 2 perfectly fine motors from tigerjapanese but i've heard mixed reviews. Then again, i've checked BOTH engines before i put them in my car. I also replaced seals and gaskets.

But its up to you. Personally, i'd spend that little extra and get a guaranteed motor.

It has nothing to do with the warranty. Many of the companies are legit, and offer good warranties, as long as you stay within their specifications (having an ASE certified mechanic install it, changing all belts and seals, etc... it's important to eliminate as much buyer-error as possible).

The issue simply lies with the legal recourse a US citizen has against a company from another country. If you get screwed, and they refuse to honor their warranty, you can't fight it in court very easily. Those companies that ARE shady know this, and they will send bad motors to the US because they know they're safe. If the price is low enough, people will continue to buy. OsakaJDMmotors is a perfect example. They've been well known to send garbage to people... since before I bought my swap nearly 7 years ago! They're still in business, and still sending garbage to people.

If you're in the US, buy from a US company to be safe. In fact, buy from www.hmotorsonline.com. Steve takes GREAT care of his customers.

I've never heard that the H23 VTEC is better than the H22. I've heard that the head is much less performance-oriented. Granted, that's only what I've heard, as I've never seen one in person.
