    General Forum Rules

These rules apply to the ENTIRE board (with some extras for beginners, which can be found HERE)
It is assumed that all members have read these rules. We are not responsible for your ignorance.

First off, the cb7tuner.com staff (admin, moderators, and various support staff) FULLY understand their duties, and are given permission to use their powers at their discretion. I trust my moderators to determine what is suitable for this board and what is not.

Please Respect each other!! That broad statement alone covers a whole lot... and it is the single most important rule there is!!
No direct attacks (flaming) on a person, their car, or what they say. If you have a problem with someone, speak to a moderator and we will remove that problem if we see fit. Any attacks or disrespectful acts will result in YOU being removed.
This is a car forum. Everything else is extra, and is not needed. If something non-car-related is causing stress to even ONE member, it's gone. End of story.

Finally, keep in mind that this is NOT a democracy. I respect the opinions of the members here, but in the end, the moderators and I make the decisions. If you have a problem, a respectful email, PM, or IM is always welcome. If you don't like the way things run around here, you are free to leave.

If you have any questions about these rules before posting a thread, feel free to PM Deev or a moderator. We will gladly help you.
If your thread is removed, please do not attack the moderators for doing their job!

No Advertising your classifieds in Signatures

    Thread Titles

They need to reflect what the thread is about.

The entire purpose for a thread title, is to allow people to know what the thread is about. If we are unable to determine what the thread is about by looking at the title, it isn't that important and will be deleted.

The basic reason for this is simple.
Most people use the title to determine if the thread might be of use. Especially when they have performed a search and multiple pages of matches have come up.
In order to help prevent people from asking the same question over and over, as well as to aid searching, we ask that the thread title be relevant.

    Things like:

    "Does anybody know?"
    "What should I think"
    "What should I do?"
"You man, my shiz is all messed up!"
    etc etc etc...

These are irrelevant titles and will result in the thread being deleted.

If you can't look at the title, and know almost everything you need to know about the topic, you probably should fix it.

Also, although it should be common sense, DO NOT use profanity (or any other offensive language) in your thread titles. We don't need anyone's parent/boss/child/teacher seeing profane titles over their shoulder. Such language in thread titles is VERY clearly seen, and could put your fellow members in a difficult position. If such a thread title is made, the thread will be deleted by a staff member as it is discovered (or reported). If the staff member deems it necessary, the offending member may be banned as well.

      Buying, selling and trading

If you buy, sell, or trade on this forum, please read ALL of the sticky threads at the top and bottom of the classifieds sections.

This is NOT ebay. You have NO protection here if you don't protect yourself. If I am put in a position to be a judge, I will ALWAYS protect the "scammer". Why? Because if you got scammed, you didn't protect yourself. That isn't my problem. When you make a fuss on this forum, that IS my problem. You've accepted the risk the moment you sent the money or items.

There are instructions and warnings in the stickies. Read them.
Members with less than 30 posts are not permitted to buy or sell on the classifieds forums. However, I know many of them use PMs to bypass this rule. Without preventing new members from using PMs, there is no way for me to stop this. BE CAUTIOUS when dealing with new members! Someone who is here for the purpose of scamming is unlikely to make 30 cb7-related posts.

      COPYRIGHT INFRINGEMENT

DO NOT copy products that are still for sale. I understand that some items (lips, grilles, spoilers) may be extremely expensive, and there would be a market for inexpensive copies. However, this is copyright infringement, and will get cb7tuner.com shut down. It may also result in the person committing the crime to face legal troubles (I WILL shut down this site before I face any legal troubles myself!) So, if you want to make a custom item to fill the void left by the high prices of the original items, please, alter your design so that it is not a direct copy. Also, DO NOT use the name of the original piece in your description.

        Signatures

*** If this link was posted in your sig, there's a 99% chance it was TOO BIG. If you don't think it was too big, please read below to find out why it was removed. ***

You are allowed a personalized signature. Each signature may contain text and/or pictures totaling no more than 500 pixels in width and 300 pixels in height. Anything over will be removed and you will be notified. ANY offensive content in your signature (picture OR text) will be removed by a moderator and you will be notified or banned, depending on the severity of the offense. Links to offensive content will be treated no differently. Repeat offenses will result in a temporary (and eventually permanent) ban.
No flaming of other members is allowed in signatures, just as in posts. That goes for "scammer" sigs as well. Protect yourself and you won't get scammed. Flaming in signatures will be removed, and a ban may be issued at the moderator's discretion.
SIGNATURES MAY NOT CONTAIN OFFENSIVE IMAGES OR LANGUAGE! That is your warning. Any signature deemed offensive by a moderator will be removed without warning. This can include anything political, religious, sexual, violent, profane, or drug related.

If you your signature is removed, either accept it, or PM a staff member to find out why it was removed (they may or may not respond... please be polite.) Any public complaining about a signature being removed will result in the loss of signature privileges altogether.

        USERNAMES

SN names can be changed by asking Deevergote.

PLEASE NOTE - This costs at least $5, please do not hassle Mike if you are not willing to spend.

Ok, the time has come... NO MORE SELLING IN SIGNATURES!

I've heard far too many scammer stories lately... I'm done with it. We've had members with less than 30 posts buying, and people PMing and responding to PMs regarding items for sale by beginners (and beginners are unable to view the Classified sections...)

ALL buying and selling is now limited to the Classified sections. That's how it should have been before, but I overlooked signatures such as "BUY MY SUSPENSION!" and "P39 ECUS FOR SALE!"
          No more.

I will make this an announcement shortly, so it will be at the top of every forum. I will give members 3 days to comply. Then I will instruct the staff to begin removing such signatures. Banning will be up to the discretion of the staff member (any sig that I delete will result in a minimum of a 3 day ban, plus a permanent loss of signature privileges.)

The ONLY exception is this (and it will be revoked if it causes problems...):
You may link to a Classified thread in your sig, on the condition that it does not reveal the items for sale.
If someone needs something, and you have it for sale, searching the Classifieds will reveal it. If someone has money to burn, they can go shopping in the Classifieds and find your stuff. They don't have to see it advertised in your signature.

"My FOR SALE thread - Click here" Links are OK to have.
But "H22 engine for sale - click here" Links are not.

The only thing that will change this one allowance will be if people start PMing and asking "what do you have for sale?"... If the seller responds with anything other than "get 30 posts, read the "sticky" and view my thread"... then they'll be banned, and that allowance will also be revoked.

          1) I know the members here don't have much money. That means that buyers will jump on a good deal if they see it (even if it seems too good to be true), and scammers know it. Not to mention, the scammers are probably just like the rest of us... broke.

          2) I'm just sick of hearing about it. I'm very seriously considering banning a good member that sold to a beginner... the sale went well, the buyer was happy... but this has to stop.

            Thread Topics / Content

Any threads about drugs, piracy (software, music, movies, etc...), porn, or anything else that may be deemed questionable (be it legally, "morally", or just downright objectionable) may be removed at a moderator's discretion.
Such threads have no value to an automotive forum, and will be removed if a moderator sees fit to do so.

Drugs, porn, and other things you wouldn't want to talk to your grandmother about can offend some people. Discussing where to obtain such things (especially when involving illegal things) can get you, as well as those who operate this forum, in trouble.

Any discussion about piracy, be it software, music, movies, or any other illegally obtained product, may be removed. Links to download sites may be allowed, unless a moderator or administrator decides otherwise. Direct links to illegal material are strictly forbidden, as that makes this site the provider of it (and can get us sued by people with MUCH more money and power...)
            Use common sense.
DO NOT provide links to illegal downloads (software, music, games, movies, etc...).
DO NOT provide product keys for illegally obtained software.
DO NOT provide passwords for password-protected sites.
DO NOT provide pictures, videos, or audio clips that are of questionable legality (child porn, hate propaganda, incest, beastiality, etc...)
            DO NOT request these things.

Such things can, and probably will, result in this site being closed forever. For that reason, these rules will be enforced strictly. Permanent bans will be given for anyone who breaks them.

Please do not discuss companies that offer cheap knockoffs of small-batch, high-quality items.
For example, if someone is copying the header designs of Bisimoto, Hytech, or SMSP, and it becomes common knowledge that these items are unauthorized copies, then any thread discussing them will be deleted. The author of the thread and participants in the discussion may be banned.
Supporting such knockoff companies is harmful to the companies that they are copying, and detrimental to our already limited aftermarket. If you support these knockoff artists, we will be left with NO quality aftermarket parts in the very near future.
However, companies like OBX and Megan Racing that copy mass-produced generic designs such as those made by DC Sports, are still acceptable.
If you are unsure if a company is an acceptable topic for discussion, please contact a moderator.

Political and religious threads, as well as threads discussing delicate topics (homosexuality, race, etc...) will be monitored by the CB7tuner staff, and they will be removed at the first sign of trouble. Troublemakers will be banned. I'd like to think we are mature and responsible enough to have such conversations, but again, these things are not necessary on an automotive forum. If they cause trouble, they're gone. End of story.

Offensive threads not labeled *NWS* (not work safe) will be removed.
That includes any thread that contains nudity, extreme violence, or highly visible profanity. Anything overly offensive (ie. illegal... child porn, bestiality, hate propaganda) will result in an immediate ban without warning.
Please refrain from using profanity in thread titles. People often view this site in environments where such language is not acceptable. Any threads with obscene language in the title will be removed.

Please post in the correct forums and in the correct fashion. If you do not, your post may be moved OR deleted. That is up to the moderator who does the deed.

Please do not post "bench racing" threads ("can I beat this car?") The variables involved in a race are far too many to accurately discuss hypothetically online. You can find the specs of any car you want online, and all the information you need to modify your own car can be found here on this site. Figure out how much power you need, figure out how to get it, and then take it to the track. That's the ONLY way you'll know. Don't waste anyone's time with hypothetical questions.

]I feel this should be added, lengthy as it may be:
No Racial/Sexual slurs. Most people have enough sense not to call anyone "******", "****", "*****", etc... However, it does happen on occasion. We have a no-tolerance policy on this board regarding such things. Anything like that will result in a ban based on the banning moderator's judgement. It may very well be permanent.
More common slurs are the sexual slurs. The most irritating of all is "***". When a man is attracted to another man, he is ***. When someone puts an unpainted body kit on their CB7, that is not ***. That is poor taste. That is ugly. That is stupid. That is not ***. I know it's a common phrase, so I won't act as harshly as I would with others... but I'd appreciate it if that usage could disappear from this board altogether.
Other sexual slurs that WILL be dealt with harshly are terms like "***got", "***", "homo", etc... Basically, anything relating to someone's sexual orientation that is used as an attack.

The reputation system (that little scale icon at the bottom of each thread) is not to be abused. Any comments that can be deemed as flaming will be dealt with as if they were made in a thread (ban). Be respectful. All comments are anonymous, so flaming via the reputation system is cowardly.

Even though the members you leave comments for do not know who you are, We DO.

                Banning

You are not welcome to post on this site for the duration of the ban. That means YOU, personally, are not allowed... not the screen name, but the person behind the name.

If you are discovered using another name to bypass a ban, you will receive a permanent IP ban.

If you have any questions regarding a ban, feel free to email Deevergote at deevergote@comcast.net. He will gladly tell you why you were banned, and for how long. If you have important matters to attend to on the board, email those you need to speak to.

                  Censored Words

People still can't get it through their head about certain words on this site.

                  Fuck
                  Shit
                  Bitch

See, most words you were taught as a kid not to say aren't censored. They aren't good words to use anyways, because they make you sound immature and uneducated. Sorry e-thugs, it's the truth.

If you must use profanity, please try to keep it at a minimum, however. The good folks at Google pay a large portion of the cost to run this site, and they're not too fond of dirty words. If you want this site to remain free, ease up on the potty mouth.

Even though curse words are not censored, they should NEVER be used in the title. Using profanity in the title of your thread will most certainly get your thread deleted, and it may even get you banned.

Therefore, if a word you type is marked out with "*"s, there's good reason for it. Edit your post, and substitute a different word. If you don't, and a mod sees it, you'll be banned. YOU CAN, AND WILL, BE BANNED SIMPLY FOR THE CONTEXT OF AN EDITED WORD!

This site is about Honda Accords. We don't discriminate against anyone for their race, gender, sexuality, religious beliefs, political beliefs, etc... When you type an offensive word that has been censored, but the context is clear, it's JUST AS OFFENSIVE. In fact, it's directly insulting to me, because you're pretty much saying "fuck you, deev... your rules don't apply to me!"

People will say "well, it just says ****", or "I used other letters, like saying f@g". So that's ok, right? No. I'm going to start issuing permanent bans for things like that. They show a disrespect for the other members of this community, and an utter disregard for the rules that make this place the community that it is.
"In before the lock" or any similar phrase, acronym, may result in a ban at a moderator's discretion. Let the moderators do their job. If you feel a post may/should result in a thread being locked, politely contact a moderator to inform them of the post. If you want to help your fellow members, politely PM the offending member to inform them of their error, so they may correct it without disciplinary action from a moderator. Otherwise... mind your own business.

It's now added separately to the rules. You can't say you didn't know, so...
                  YOU WILL BE BANNED.

The CB7tuner.com name and logo are my property.

If you wish to create an item bearing the CB7tuner.com logo, I ask that you get my permission first. For a single item intended for personal use, I will often give my permission.

If you wish to sell items bearing the CB7tuner.com logo, you must obtain my permission. This is given very rarely, and I am very particular about the appearance of any items sold, as well as the quality of the production.

Using the logo without my permission will most likely result in a permenant ban.
Selling items bearing the logo without my permission WILL result in a permanent ban, and possibly legal action.
